Are ALL ‘stars’ actually ‘suns’ like ours, with little planets around them?

If not, why not?

Not the belt. It’s just three stars: Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka. Just south of the belt there is the Orion Nebula, which is a star factory. You can dimly see it in good conditions with no light pollution or moon glare, but definitely with binoculars. It’s only a small part of a larger structure, however, called Barnard’s loop.

One of the Freepers posted here that they had just been discussing this subject with his bowling team. I don’t bowl, but my 13 year old grandson does. I will bring this up with him.

Having said that, I have used Spica as a navigation star.

I remember learning stars were almost perfect black body radiators, so much for that theory.

By the way, I just remembered this, a million or so years from now the Orion Nebula will be a bright star cluster, much brighter than the Pleiades. Collectively, the brightest thing in the sky besides the sun and moon. But I don’t know if this matters, not being a million years in the future.
