HAVING to get up in the middle of the night to pee could mean you have high blood pressure, scientists have discovered.
The risk is raised by 40 per cent by trips to the loo. And the more times you get up, the higher the chance.
High blood pressure can lead to heart attacks and strokes if left untreated. More than one in four adults in the UK have high blood pressure, although many won't realise it.
Dr Satoshi Konno of Japans Tohoku Rosai Hospital, which quizzed 3,749 people, warned sufferers to cut salt intake.
Compared to western countries, people in Japan eat more salt and are more likely to be "salt sensitive", meaning that their blood pressure rises more when salt is consumed.
Taken together, these two factors mean that people in Japan are at greater risk of developing high blood pressure.

Just have a bucket beside the bed.
sheesh. It’s like y’all dont even know how to be lazy.
Or that you’re preggers.
Now that’s just crazy talk.
Or that you’ve birthed a bunch of young uns.
Yeah, and if you don't get up to pee in the night, but you still pee in the night, it's a sign that you might have to get some of these didies...

This is why I drink like I do. I don’t get up to take care of that.
Dang!!! I’ve been getting up in the middle of the night 3 times and more for 15 plus years.
I’m dead.
“HAVING to get up in the middle of the night to pee could mean you have high blood pressure, scientists have discovered.”
For me it’s usually a sign that I drank water before going to sleep.
Hey Dr. Dodo, here is a test study.
Drink a gallon of water right before bed.
Avoid all peeing at night.
Your ruptured bladder was caused by what? Salt? Carbs?
Yes, it's very important at night if you really have to pee to just pee right where you are. If someone is in bed with you, then you can pee on them. Also it's OK to roll or slide to the edge of the bed and just pee over the side. For the women it might be easier to just slide down to the end of the bed and hang your feet off or put them in the air.
But don't ever get up. You'll die. This peeing-in-bed technique is what I do, and look at me I'm still here to type this. When you pee in bed at night rather than getting up, you're not only benefitting yourself, you do it so you can carry the message to others.
If you get up to pee but by the time you time you get to the bathroom you don't really have to go anymore, then you'll probably be fine, but why take the chance?
It's OK to kneel in bed as you are peeing, but not during the national anthem.
Yup.
Young children do not have high blood pressure very often. They pee in their beds often.
As long as it doesn’t hurt when you pee.
And I thought it was all of the water and iced tea I drink all day long. :P
