A county in New York has declared a state of emergency after more than 100 people have been diagnosed with measles.

Rockland County officials announced that starting at 12 a.m. on Wednesday, anyone under 18 who has not yet been vaccinated will be barred from public places until they receive the MMR vaccine or until the emergency declaration expires in 30 days. It's unclear how the ban on public places will be enforced.

The area I grew up now up there with freak filled places like CA and Pacific Northwest with outbreaks of preventable diseases. In this case, the insular Ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities is the disease nexus. There is no religious objection to vaccines.

There is no religious objection to vaccines.

My mother lodged a religious objection to the mumps vaccine because we are Catholic and aborted human fetal tissue is used to produce it. The State was forced to agree and none of us ever got the vaccine.

What are they going to do? Ask for school or pediatrician immunity cards? Call ICE?

Hahahah.

“I wonder how many illegals are there?””

In Rockland County? It’s an NYC suburb. Anyone who is fooled by this headline is a dupe

In nyc and it’s surroundings there is no way every school child is not vaccinated

It is NOT a bastion of homeschooling.

Besides which I know of a woman a wife and mother nice neighborhood who was brutally murdered in her own house by an illegal from El Salvador. Years ago

The corrupt government doesn’t care about her or about anyone they’re falsely targeting here. This is about alllowing diseased people to invade

No us citizen In Rockland County reaches

Whether the unvaccinated are neo-hippies, ultra orthodox Jews, survivalists, or illegal aliens, how do they pose a threat to those who are vaccinated? An MMR vaccine, if it is 99% effective, should protect the recipients thereof. I am not sufficiently knowledgeable of Hasidic teachings, but if their interpretation of Jewish scriptures prohibits vaccination, then forcing them, or Amish or other religious groups, to take vaccines violates the First Amendment.

Keeping them and their unvaccinated offspring away from the public does not violate the First Amendment.

So 100 people with a communicable disease is an emergency, but 50,000 looking to break into your country with the promise of 50 times that number isn’t. Got it.

Haverstraw, for all intents and purposes has been a sanctuary city since I was a kid.

So liberals have found a golden trigger to set conservatives at one another's throats and protect their chosen group, illegals.

“aborted human fetal tissue is used to produce it”

https://www.ncbcenter.org/resources/frequently-asked-questions/use-vaccines/

“What does it mean when we say that these products are made in “descendent cells”?

Descendent cells are the medium in which these vaccines are prepared. The cell lines under consideration were begun using cells taken from one or more fetuses aborted almost 40 years ago. Since that time the cell lines have grown independently. It is important to note that descendent cells are not the cells of the aborted child. They never, themselves, formed a part of the victim’s body.”

Yes, and since the Catholic Church objects to abortion under ANY circumstances, she filed and won her objection.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

If a quarantine saves just one child's life, it's worth it.

See, THIS part is what I oppose. Unless the place is taking taxpayer funds, it should be able to make its own rules.

(Cue the folks who think that therefore, I obviously want everybody to die.)

There are alternatives nowadays that don’t involve the use of human fetal cells, for most pathogens.

FD: I don’t worry about the origins of my vaccines, but some folks are more conscientious than I am.

Hear hear!!! It's not like forcing a religious baker to celebrate perversity, or pay taxes to fund abortions!

That would require one to trust the makers of the vaccines, which frankly, I don't.
