Less than two weeks after “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett pleaded not guilty to 16 counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly lying to police about a hate crime, prosecutors have dropped charges in the case.

In CHICAGO? You have GOT to be kidding! I grew up there. I've bought two cops, an alderman and a traffic court judge. How can you trust someone who can't be bought? They can't be relied on to turn a blind eye to a little mordita.

The fact the case was sealed, his bond was forfeited, and “community service was done” - its pretty clear that along with likely pressure from politicos higher-up, the Cook County DA shoe-horned Smollett’s case into an Illinois “first felony offender” program, designed to keep young black men out of prison.

BTW this is not smollett's first offense. He pleaded no contest to a DUI and lying to police in 2007 and got 2 years probation for it.

We'll see what reason they give, but this looks like black celebrity privilege to me.
