This is the second action in two days taken by local authorities that takes the Mueller Report off the top story status.

filing a false report, taking crimes, doctoring or withholding evidence. perjury should all result in the same sentence the suspect would receive if found guilty
It’s politics at its most venal.
The state’s attorney’s office just came out and said that because this would have been Smollet’s first offense (aside from lying to the police a few years ago during a DUI stop), he would most likely only be given a sentence of community service, and that he has been good for the community and thus has already performed “community service.”
To see who pulled the strings all one needs to do is think about the most influential political force in Chicago is, and realize that that political force had pre-existing relationships or contacts with both Smollet and the state’s attorney. That influential political force is the Obamas.

The fact that the case is sealed tells you all you need to know about this nonsense. This is a political decision, not a law decision.

My thoughts as well. I had almost forgotten about this case, and now it is not only front and center again, but the ‘fix’ for the elitist is there for all to see.
It exposes TWO types of justice in this country today;
-That that deals with the elite who can get away with destruction of evidence under congressional subpoena like Clinton, or fabricating racist attacks to smear political adversaries like Smollett,
-and the type of justice which is much less forgiving the rest of us peons have to live under.
I just hope Smollett’s accusations don’t lead to a false indictment of some innocent people. The left can justify that though.
