A woman died from her injuries after her own two dogs mauled her outside an animal hospital in Irving Saturday morning, police say.
Police shot and killed the dogs when they arrived because the pets would not allow authorities to come close to the owner, police say.

Yeah I can’t imagine a cat taking a man down and killing him.
Even asleep, they would have to claw or bite to the arteries on the neck and I don’t know if they have that kind of capacity.

No, I am saying there is more to this than reported. But because the cops (well, actually the press liaison) claim the dogs are pit bulls (maybe they are, but most cops don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground about dog breeds) no more facts are required. I want more info.
No matter what kind of dogs are involved, are you not the least bit curious what really happened? Again, there is more to this than we are reading. I don’t care about the dog breed, something smells funky about this incident. Just say pit bull and we are not allowed to ask for any facts. Sort of like when the Democrats cry racist, everyone is required to shut up.

Two dogs were out loose in public and bit someone.
The two dogs were put in Rabies Quarantine at local veterinarian clinic.
Owner came on regular visits to feed the two dogs inside a enclosure.
The 2 dogs killed their owner.

I always suspected he was chet99 and asked him, but he said he wasn’t. (I guess what else could he say?)
The Pit defenders’ last stand here on FR is invariably to accuse anyone critical of the breed and its owners of being a democrat or liberal.

Supposedly only 5% of dog owners bother to train their animal, even the bare minimum come, stay, sit, no. Pretty amazing when you consider the billions spent on dogs. I mean you would think if someone was going to spend all this money on their dog they would want it to be happy and enjoyable to be around. I wonder what % of pit bulls are trained, has to be super low.

Take the breed out of it for a moment and use your noggin. Something smells to high heaven here.
The dogs are in there to be tested for rabies after attacking/biting someone and the vets just let this woman take them out for a walk? WTH? Does that not strike anyone here as the least bit peculiar? Sounds like a violation of the law and simple common sense to me. I’d like to know just how in the world that happened. But, since they are pit bulls, the criminal actions of the vets don’t come into play. Right?
There is more to this story than the dogs.
The problem here isn't the lack of information, it is that you don't like the information that is there.
1) Dogs attacked someone.
2) Dogs held at a vet for observation following the attack
3) Owner visits dogs and is allowed to walk them in a secure enclosure.
4)Dogs attack owner 5) Dogs prevent bystander from assisting injured woman
6) Cops arrive, dogs prevent them from helping woman, cops shoot dogs
7) Cops confirm that the killer dogs are pit bulls.
What facts do you see missing?

I want to know why this woman was allowed to have this kind of contact with the dogs. If you aren’t curious about that, then I am criticizing your thinking here, not your politics.
I don’t believe that there is any other breed of dog that will kill their master.
Yep poor reporting. Dogs cannot be “tested” for rabies. That requires a necropsy of the brain. If the owner claims they are up to date on shots but cannot produce proof they can be observed for a certain number of days to see if symptoms emerge.

Why in the world was the woman allowed in the enclosure? That’s what I am asking.
Why does my asking that question have anything to do with the dogs’ breed? Regardless of the animals’ breed, based on why they were being held there the woman should never have been allowed to do that.
Search for ‘Dobermans kill owner.’ Same for most large working dog breeds.

All I asked for was facts, which are in very short supply in this piece of slipshod (at best) reporting.
This occurred at an animal hospital where the dogs were being held. I’d say they’d have about as good an idea of the breed of dog as anyone.
The denial from those Freepers who reflexively defend these vicious dogs is amazing!
I’d imagine nobody thought the dogs actually had rabies, that’s just what is often done in the case of a bite. (They probably thought, “Oh, another pit bull bite!”)
And since the dogs technically belonged to the woman I’d guess the vet hospital may have been hesitant to try to keep her from them—especially since pit bull owners themselves tend to have some of the characteristics of their pets.
And the dogs I am sure were not happy campers.
