I drove from Burbank to Bakersfield twice during a family visit In January. I am very familiar with that stretch of road. Lot of rain this trip. the “Vine” was closed down the day after I drove through due to snow. I am from NY. Coming down into the San Joachin Valley off the “Vine” is a cool sight to behold.
Me: Sorry, we have no roads or highways in Texas called ‘The’.
You need to loose that Kalifornee speak before you cross that Red into OK.

Actually I am, been over that hill many times. Drove big rigs over it back in the day. Had insane city drivers try to drive under my front bumper coming down that hill several times. It’s not the hill... it’s the drivers with absolutely no common sense.
Let my son drive it a couple of weeks ago
for the experience.
It seems to take 30 minutes to get all the way through
the Grapevine.
It is real pretty when there is snow on the hills.
You can take I5 or the 5. Same road.
I am old and have never been on “the 5” through the grapevine, but I remember when it was 99.
Got some foreign owned tollroads.
Not in Texas.
Its been years since Ive driven that road. Fond memories of it, but it can be dicey if the weather is bad.
I grew up in California. I still call all roads the.

Bump
In Texas would that be Ranch Road 5, Farm Market Road 5, Farm Road 5, State Highway 5 or US Highway 5?
Or the various County Road 5? Sorry, no Interstate 5 in Texas.
People die in car crashes. Nobody cares. People die in plane crashes. Everybody upset.
As my Grandmother would say; Well Bless Your Heart.
