THE WOODLANDS, Texas (AP) — A country music singer has died in Texas after his manager says a revolver he was handling during a music video shoot accidentally discharged.

Montgomery County Justice of the Peace Wayne Mack says 35-year-old Justin Carter died last weekend at his apartment in The Woodlands, north of Houston. Carter’s manager, Mark Atherton, tells KTRK-TV the singer was using the gun as a prop for a music video he was filming when it went off.

A guy working for us got a hydrshok down the leg, in an “accidental discharge”. His brother was cleaning a 9mm...

That was the story.

In reality, his brother shot at his center of mass, and he was quick enough by half, and jumped.

In at the hip, out at the ankle. They had to open his whole leg to pick out shrapnel. Both are presently incarcerated.

Felons are not allowed to own guns...

It is hard to hire good people.

From a difference source:

“Carter’s mother, Cindy McClellan, opened up to Fox News about her son’s tragic death.

She told the outlet that the gun was in the singer’s pocket and “went off and caught my son in the corner of his eye.””

You do the math on that.

How much life insurance does the manager have on his client?

With some semiautomatics it is unwise to carry with one in the pipe. I carry Mexican, but never with the glok.

Sorry, your theory doesn’t hold much water. Only an idiot would grab and pull a pistol out of a pocket or concealed holster and allow his finger near the trigger. And if it discharged it would shoot a leg or foot which would not be deadly.

NOTHING makes any sense here, boys and girls.

I wonder what REALLY happened, not that we will ever know.

If they were shooting a video as claimed then others were
present I’d assume. Someone may have seen what happened
but hasn’t been released yet. But a loaded gun to be used
as a video prop doesn’t even make sense. JMO

You ALWAYS assume a gun is loaded. It’s sad that no one told him how to use a weapon or he was just plain stupid.

Disagree. Under stress, people tend to clutch fiercely. There is a difference between being an idiot and being inexperienced. And a bullet nicking a femoral artery can be deadly and quick.
As I said, the inquest will give the details, but a quick draw without being careful could be the culprit.

Either a Darwin Award nominee, or they ain’t telling us something.

The two shots in the back of the head may help clear things up a bit, however.

If he had money, or insurance policies, or dependents, someone or some entity will need to know exactly what happened.

Photoshopping a magazine into the M-16 would be fun.

IN TEXAS ?!?!

And I know many Texans that have WAY MORE than the stated average. By like 10X or more. And the Ammo to go with.

If only that weapon had accidentally gone off, we’d been spared so much.

Back in the 90’s I did a photo shoot for the King Ranch Catalog. The prop guy handed me a double barrel shotgun along with two shells. I told the director since this wasn’t a video and I wouldn’t be firing the gun I didn’t feel comfortable handing a loaded shotgun back and forth to amateurs. I suggested a photo be taken of me loading the gun. It was advertising a coat, by the way.

On movie sets not even fake firearms are ever pointed directly at anyone. It’s all done with camera angles. And as soon as the director yells “Cut” the pro immediately steps in and takes the gun.

One more thing, when possession of the fake gun changes hands the person with the gun does not let go until the other person says “Got it”. All this makes me think this video production was very low budget and not being made by professionals.

I didn’t catch that until now.

Then again, paying any attention to manbearpig by me doesn’t happen.
