Authorities responding to a 911 call shortly after 7:15 a.m. found the 31-year-old man unresponsive on a northbound train at the 169th Street station. He had no obvious signs of trauma to his body; EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

These are the times that try men's souls In the course of our nation's history The people of Boston have rallied bravely Whenever the rights of men have been threatened
Today a new crisis has arisen The Metropolitan Transit Authority, better known as the MTA Is attempting to levy a burdensome tax on the population In the form of a subway fare increase Citizens, hear me out, this could happen to you!
Well, let me tell you of the story of a man named Charlie On a tragic and fateful day
Well, did he ever return? No he never returned and his fate is still unlearned (What a pity) He may ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston And he's the man who never returned
One of my favorite Kingston Trio songs.
So our new leaders want to put us on trains !?!!!
My father died on the F train 33 years ago.
Massive heart attack.
So our new leaders want to put us on trains !?!!!
If you are deplorable, and they gain the Senate...
They will have trains and camps ready for us.
That I do not doubt
I sincerely hope he was of advanced age and among friends.
He was 56 and I was told by the police that a sailor from the us navy tried helping him.
Friday he made the last payment on his gravesite (he knew he had a serious heart problem) and told my mother now I can die, then Monday he died.
My mother told me he slept the whole weekend and that I should never do that. Since then if i get tired day after day I start to wonder. I dont have a heart problem though I do have a leg problem. Yesterday a third doctor recommended I might have a collapsed vein removed from my leg because the blood is going in the wrong direction. First I am to try a compression leg bandage and after 8 weeks see how that goes and if I can live with it. I told the doctor give me ten more years so I can see my daughter grown up.
The last time I recall hearing “MTA”, was early 60’s.
My friend Rob had recorded it on a WIRE RECORDER!
Sorry about your Dad, FRiend. F was my old line, too, to Court St.
The term “from here to Canarsie” (ie., from here to Timbuktu) was from the days when Canarsie was like the end of the earth - the last place a boy like my Dad from the Bronx could go on the NY metro.
Like so many other things, the Bronx has been ruined by welfare.
There were beautiful neighborhoods there; the pictures of what it was like will break your heart. LBJ and his ilk were destroyers of worlds.
Thanks golux. Was a long time ago but I appreciate it. Could have been worse, he had TB at age 19 in Ireland.
Sorry about your dad... I hope your leg is healed up ASAP.
Wow! The audio quality must have been poor to say the least. Those old wire recorders were designed for frequency range of the human voice not music.
PghBaldy, Thank You.
The only thing I remember with any certainty was the green eye!
I found it! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_eye_tube
This was so long ago that stereo, meant not one, but TWO SPEAKERS!
The wire recorder was momo, but unless you went to a fancy movie theater, sound was sound, some were louder, but mostly the same.
Yes, you could get a ‘reverb’ for your car!
And hit a bump it would make funny sounds.
A spring reverb!!!
