The Rev. Gerold Langsch, was charged with assault by contact following the encounter in October. Hes currently free on $15,000 bond and is facing a year in jail and a fine of up to $4,000.
The 75-year-old priest is accused of the assault after he visited a woman in hospice care at home for complications from diabetes and administered the sacrament of anointing the sick, a sacrament of absolution.
The woman, who wasnt identified, says Langsch first anointed her chest with holy water and then began to apply lotion on her body and massage her breast.
At one point he allegedly pinched her nipple and asked Does that feel good? before attempting to put his hand in her diaper, which he was unable to do.
The alleged incident and priests behavior left the woman shocked and confused, she told the police. She said she felt like a nasty, dirty piece of meat.
Police said that the reason it took nearly half a year for the authorities to arrest Langsch is because of the womans health, which delayed the investigation, even though she reported the crime five days after the incident, according to CBS Austin.
She was reportedly able to identify the priest in a lineup helping officers make an arrest and charge him with the crime.

Like I said: He deserves his day in court.
Too many are willing to just accept it on the face of the article.
We’re Americans, and that is NOT the way we do things.
“diaper”
Here, let me help take a load off...
From the faux pope to these scumbag priests, it makes it hard to have a good feeling about the church.
An awful lot of Priests who have made programs for EWTN appear to have gone bad. Fr. John Corapi comes to mind.
Two priests who were guests of and who did not make programs for EWTN that were listed by people other than you in response to my question are not an awful lot of Priests who have made programs for EWTN, mr buckeye
And ewtn did not cover up for either one Their programs were dropped immediately
Its bad enough without people unnecessarily smearing the good reputations of good organizations
Hillary voter
He/she was referring to the *patient* (not the priest) having dementia, and thus misreporting the incident.
So, at your particular judgement, when Our Lord asks you why you abandoned His Church, how will you answer? Tell Him that other people sinned and you were offended? What about your sins, are they offensive to Our Lord? This is a horrid time indeed and the weak are leaving, the faithful who love Jesus know that the only way to cope is more prayer and faith on their part. Decide. Be a crusader or be a quitter but remember, you will be asked about your choice.
Maybe he’ll grow bewbs in Hell and then have Freddie Krueger rub lotion on them with his finger-knives for all Eternity.
Yes, and evidently it's the same behind the altar or in the confessional booth. The Catholic Church should have taken serious steps probably 50 years ago to rid itself of this stigma. But instead they have done one of the largest coverups in the history of any religion. I don't take issue with Catholicism as a religion, but I think that society has the right to sue the pants off of the Catholic Church at least here in America and start putting guilty priests into jail for very long times coupled with crippling financial forfeitures. Just because it's a church, doesn't mean that it doesn't have to obey our laws.
What’s the difference between a sadist and a masochist?
A masochist says, “Beat me, beat me.”
A sadist say, “Why? Why?”
“In the name of the father,
the son, and the ... holy cow!”
“A mans sterling reputation is ravaged by hatred.
Anti Catholic bigotry is rampant at FR. Shame!”
Well the priest was arrested and had to post a $15k bond to get out of jail, so there must be prima facie evidence of the criminal act charged. Cops don’t go around arresting people for whom they have no evidence. What should be bothering you is why it took from October of last year to today, to pick the guy up. Your charge of anti-Catholic bigotry is shameful on its face. I don’t give a fig about the Catholic Church or it’s teachings, but I do care when one of its practitioners commits a criminal sexual act. And there is ample evidence that priests are misbehaving sexually with both those of the opposite sex and with children. It is a scandal of world wide proportions that needs to be addressed completely. So I guess since the Catholic Church has chosen to try to prevent these abuses from being discovered, that they should be fair game on the part of our civilian law enforcement people. If this guy is found guilty, he should spend the rest of his natural life behind bars, and the Catholic Church should be forced to compensate this woman and her family, since a priest is an “agent” of the Church.
“Two priests who were guests of and who did not make programs for EWTN that were listed by people other than you in response to my question are not an awful lot of Priests who have made programs for EWTN, mr buckeye”
Whatever. I never heard of the Corapi guy or EWTN before today, had just posted a link to his wiki page for anyone else in a similar position.
I am so one with so much of the Catholic leadership, but not my catholic faith. It’s not our fault that the churchbis infested with snakes. But don’t let yhem take our faith, our religion away. The doctrine is not to blame for evil people taking the reigns for a time.
Oh geeze.
Ok
The scumbag priests as they are referred to here are not acting according to the Church teaching
I though it was about last rites, so she is most likely dead by now.
Not every priest is bad, but the church should police their own and get rid of the bad ones.
But they do arrest people on the basis of an affidavit whether there is supporting evidence is another matter.
She did not necessarily have to be in immediate danger of death to receive the sacrament.
That would work.
