I'm not speaking for Trump or making excuses, but I understand why Trump doesn't like McCain. McCain was arrogant, always has been. He came from privilege and we know how he got through the Naval Academy,....near the bottom. There are plenty of witnesses that knew him of the Forestall, but no one asks them what they think if it's negative about McCain.
I was in the military and there were plenty of brave men I met while in the military, but bravery doesn't qualify them to hold public office. I knew some that would thrown their life down to save someone else that you wouldn't want to be dog catcher and they possibly need to be in jail. I didn't know McCain personally, but I didn't like him by what he said and did over decades of "service". /sarc
What I saw is a man that was reasonable as long as he was in charge, but was NEVER a team player. The media hated him while Clinton was POTUS, but loved him when 43 was steering the ship. The reason was, McCain did everything he could to screw Dubyah. The media called him "Maverick". The truth is he was a RINO and everyone knows it. His picture is there under RINO on Wikipedia. He was jealous 43 was POTUS and wanted to embarrass him. By doing so, Republicans were screwed and He brought harm to the country. The media loved him fighting Bush, but when it was finally "his turn", The media hated him once again. Of course, it was Palin's fault he didn't win even though it easily provable that she brought anywhere from 15-30 percent to McCain's team. It couldn't be because he was a wishy washy piece of crap.
Now we come to Trump. It was quick to see that McCain was a "Never Trumper", in fact he might have been in the leadership. Now that Trump was elected and things are going so well, the Never Trumpers are SLOWLY melting away, but some, that have lost their positions now will never accept Trump fixing everything he touches and they have failed for 40 years. McCain was one of them. He took the "Dossier" and spread the word all around. Why would you do that knowing it came from Hillary? There was many more digs McCain tried while in the Senate, but cutting to the chase, He voted thumbs down on killing Obamacare. He made sure it took his vote and he made sure he came in the middle of the night on camera. That was his final statement to Trump before death and everybody is supposed fall down and worship McCain for it. I for one agree with Trump. he might not know how to say it gently, but why should he. The media will ask him 100 more times what he thinks about McCain just to get a story for the next cycle because someone like Trump (and Me) will not soften their response to make the medicine go down easier. That's what I admire most about Trump.
If they keep harping on Trumps opinion of McCain, there will be someone look into the Forestall incident, or look at other things the media have let slide over the years. I don't like speaking ill of the dead, but they should stop picking the scab.
McCain was the impetus for the RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSI collusion hoax.
He deserves every bit of disrespect he gets.
chuckles.
I agree with a lot of what you wrote.
thanks for posting

McCain was a scumbag and a traitor. While a sitting senator he actively engaged in an attempt to smear though false pretense a presidential candidate. After the election he was party to an attempted coup of a duly elected president of the United States. He should have been shot. Tweets are the least of what Trump should be doing.
McCain had an undying hatred of Trump, because Trump beat him ... and beat all that McCain could do to try and derail Trump.
McCain hated Trump so much that he carried that hatred to his own funeral. And wherever McCain is now ... he STILL hates Trump.
McCain was never FOR AMERICA and for putting AMERICA FIRST. He was only for himself and putting himself, and his own ideas first. McCain caused a great deal of harm to America and Americans.
Nobody ever mentions the worst thing McCain did besides try to give away our country with amnesty for illegal aliens and their employers, he was the willing Designated Loser for the Kenyanesian Usurper.
McCain’s own questionable eligibility problem provided the perfect cover for Obama who was clearly ineligible.
The resolution in the Senate for McCain specifically cited McCain’s TWO citizen parents as the reason he was a natural born citizen.
McCain screwed the whole country with his Obamacare betrayal just to stick it to President Trump. That is the kind of irresponsible, petty, vindictive piece of foul crap he was.
McCain’s hate for Trump has the same origin as every other NeverTrumper:
Trump is trying to stop or even reverse the GHW Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA), it’s been their life’s work to fundamentally transform this country with fraudulently documented foreigners.
Usually when Trump goes after someone once or twice its cheese in the maze . . . A diversion from something bigger.
With McTurd though this feel like preparation for some really bad stuff about to come out on McTurd.
I won’t get into the details, but McCain was a traitorous loser his whole life through.
Maybe I’ll just mention what his fellow pilots called him: “Ace McCain.” They called him that because he managed to lose five planes, through sheer stupidity. He never accomplished anything, except lies and treachery.
Look, it’s true Trump doesn’t have to speak really disparagingly of anyone publicly.
As for McCain?
Perhaps this juxtaposition of Trump and McCain shows how careful we have to be about overly venerating military.
OT1H, conservatives act like MIL types are gods. Then, OTOH, they eviscerate veterans like McCain. It looks like hypocrisy.
They’re not gods, and indeed many individuals have done worse than McCain. And the Founders generally feared too much military - exactly because it can be used against the people. It doesn’t matter what you think the majority - even vast - of MIL think politically.
Anyway, off my soapbox.
McCain specifically - an apologetic RINO, always playing to Dems, with a past including financial shenanigans. My first knowledge of him was his insisting in the ‘90s that submarine fleet was not necessary. Never mind his state was involved in B1 production and maybe hoping for more funds. (Yes, I was in submarine design at the time, but my dad was long heavily involved in B1 design and production.) I found it outrageous that anyone would stupidly imply one part of MIL was unimportant. Pretty transparent his intentions.
Was Benedict Arnold a hero of the revolution or a scumbag traitor? He was both. McCain suffered terribly for this country, but he sold us out afterwards on many issues, like Obamacare. His record is very...complicated. That said, President Trump gains absolutely nothing by attacking a dead man. It can only hurt Trump, and we, frankly, cannot afford to lose the next election over Trump’s tweets. He already has us, his base, but he’s driving a whole lot of other folks away.
Failed presidential candidate mccain was consumed with envy and jealous of President Trump’s victory, to his bitter ending.
McCain’s veto of overturning Obamacare was not a thumbs down to Trump, It was a middle finger up to America.
We could raise a lot of help for veterans by charging patriots to piss on McCains grave....
Trump gains absolutely nothing by attacking a dead man.
I believe this has a purpose.
President Trump wasn’t the one who brought McCain’s name into the conversation in the first place. It was Peter Strzok and Lisa Page under oath.
Those ‘others’ just need to get to know what a scumbag McCain was ...
“McCains veto of overturning Obamacare was not a thumbs down to Trump, It was a middle finger up to America.”
Yes. Screw the “little people” in America, and make Trump look bad at the same time. He was dying, so it was no big deal. He was secure in the knowledge that his demon spawn Meghan; and drug-addicted, embezzling wife, never will have to worry about paying for healthcare. So it worked for him!!
