Have you ever been told to "grow up" in your 20s or need an excuse as to why you still find cat videos on the internet really funny?
Well now you might have an official reason as to why you're not acting like a mature adult.
People don't become fully "adult" until they're in their 30s, according to brain scientists.
Currently the UK law says you become a mature adult when you reach the age of 18.
Scientists who study the brain and nervous system say the age at which you become an adult is different for everyone.
Research suggests people aged 18 are still going through changes in the brain which can affect behaviour and make them more likely to develop mental health disorders.

I think you have a good point. You get a responsible mature man by giving him progressively greater responsibility, and demanding at each stage that he act with judgement and maturity.
There’s also a reason why the military puts 18 year olds under the close supervision of much older sergeants.
With all of the fake science that is more about virtual signalling than actual science, why should we believe any study ever again?

Actually the brain keeps growing into old age. Most people however don’t continue growing, but instead atrophy.
Brain operating frequencies are typically between 0 to 30 Hz for the entire life of most people. The gamma frequency begins at 30 and goes to at least 250 Hz. This is what happens in spiritual awakening and is how the mystics do what they do.
Gamma frequencies of consciousness were not even discovered until 1964 when digital EEGs were developed.
This topic is my area of research and lecture as a result of a major change in my own brain at age 31 from meningitis.
The inflammation damaged my inhibitory GABA neurons causing my brain frequency to rise to the point my perception of reality changed. The stored memories of other people’s life experiences became physical to me as I walk through their soul.
I’ve spent 30 years studying how this happened and discovering the unseen attributes of human consciousness.
The human brain is just a transmitter and receiver for the soul. Everything that Jesus taught us is how to raise our operating frequency of our consciousness.
George Armstrong Custer was a Brigadier General at age 23.
Somewhere Natzi Pelosi is deeply saddened by this news.
Mere observation is all that is needed to determine this, but introspection helps in some part also. I’ve been saying for 20 plus years that people don’t really mature until the are at least 25, sometimes not until 30.
So Democrats want 16 year olds to vote?
Maybe not so much virtue signaling as making excuses to treat criminals with leniency.
Did not know that. Interesting.
I thought this was common knowledge, the fact that Jesus never started his
ministry util 30 was a pretty good sign.
Yeah, those are the ones who reached their maturity at 17.
Some people watch funny cat videos because they love cats and they are funny. It has nothing to do with age. They love cats!
Will millenials ever be recognized as adults??
Absolutely no doubt in my mind it should be raised to at least 30 unless you are a combat veteran of the US armed forces.
Or hard work and determination will get you ahead when in fact we don't have meritocracy. We have a rigged system on the verge of becoming a caste system.
30’s if their lucky —
as far as males go, until you are 40 you are a boy and will be considered as such.
I was told to grow-up in my teens and by the time I was 17, I was enlisted in the Army Guard, and commissioned when I was 20.
Extended childhood is the failure of parenting. Parents who are still trying to grow-up.
