An insider close to the film claims that 007 will be getting behind the wheel of a battery-powered Aston Martin for the soon-to-be-shot blockbusters signature action sequence.
The car is a limited edition Rapide E sedan, which goes on sale next year, according to The Sun.
Based on an existing gasoline-powered model, it replaces the engine and gas tank with its zero-emissions drivetrain components and sends 600 hp to the rear wheels through twin electric motors.
Only 155 will be offered at $300,000 each, but Bonds will be unique, equipped with all of the sorts of gadgets youd expect Q Branch to add.
The source told the newspaper that director Cary Joji Fukunaga is a total tree hugger and pushed to use the car with the support of star Daniel Craig.
Everybody is afraid of Bond getting labeled too PC but they all felt the time was right to put him in a zero-emission vehicle.

They’d have to do a remake of Octopussy.
Bond movies are nothing more than a cartoon of their previous self.A wide screen video game. Boom! Bang! Burn!
The first Smart car I saw was in Madrid in 2000.
It still looks like two buckets seats and a windshield to me.
Can’t wait to miss yet another Bond film.
Hollywood can’t make movies anymore. They’re all social justice drills in depravity and Marxism.
I believe the next version will have extra melanin.
Foina Volpe’s attack bike would really light up that stupid electric car.
Work of art.
Anytime I see one I fantasize about tipping it backwards.
...and an extra "X" chromosome without the "Y".
Ejection seats have too much of a carbon footprint. There goes one option.
Major Boothroyd would have none of this.
One of my longtime friends bought a Tesla as a retirement present for his wife. She loves it. They decided to use it for a vacation road trip from Florida to Kentucky. They thought they had planned all of the recharge stops. But, Florida is flat, Kentucky and West Virginia aren’t. Gravitional position is evidently is an energy gradient based on change in elevation and friction
They ended up in an RV park for 18 hrs recharging. OOPS.
OOPS = Out of product specifications.
I have enjoyed Daniel Craig’s Bond role. Despite his personal lifestyle preferences, his portrayal of Bond has been closer to the Ian Fleming character than any other Bond actor, except possibly George Lazenby, who wasn’t even an actor really. Connery was always the original Bond for those who never read the books, but even his portrayal was not as dark as Ian Flemings intent. Connery was cool, but not so cold. Craig plays a cold character, matching Flemings 007 character.
I hope that while the new movie may feature a stunt involving an electric car, it does not detract from what the franchise has done to rebuild 007 since the campy days of Moore, Brosnan, etc.
Just in case you didn’t realize, those are two different cars.
:)
I didn’t.
The first one kind of dominated the second.
Ummmmm, electric cars are far from zero emissions. Unless they really did figure out how to harness those unicorn farts. And the batteries are ecological disasters. But as long as the snobs feel good, that's what matters.
I saw one in Detroit a couple years before they started selling them. (Prototypes on the road are common sights). I got up behidnto see what the car was and what kind of person was stupid enough to drive one at 80 moh
What do you want to bet that Bond never charges it?
