Well I’m sure not 100% of everything Benito did was bad. He was a snappy dresser at least

Mussolini made the trains run on time. After $80 billion spent, Gov. Jerry Brown couldn't even build train tracks.

I’m sure many in the EU goverment would happily paraphrase Mussolini: Everything in the EU, nothing outside the EU, nothing against the EU.

The EUropeons approve of authoritarianism, they just don’t approve of doing so in public.

The modern Left is really Fascism. They just try and hide it.

I wonder if they’ve praised Brezhnev or even Stalin without it being an issue?

What does social justice mean? It means work guaranteed, fair wages, decent homes; it means the possibility of continuous evolution and improvement.
When the war is over, in the worlds social revolution that will be followed by a more equitable distribution of the earths riches, due account must be kept of the sacrifices and of the discipline of the Italian workers.
Well, when Mussolinis rhetoric as a fascist is identical to that of the modern left, its impossible to hide.

Are we going to dig up FDR so we can excoriate him for praising Mussolini and modeling the National Recovery Act after Mussolini’s economic policies?

The first attempt by Hitler to incorporate Austria into the 3rd Reich was thwarted by Il Duche who sent armor up to the border threatening to cross over if Adolph ever made a move. Which was well received in the US and UK

Three posts in, and you hit the home run. One would suppose we could give him credit for his sartorial tastes as well, though.
I mean, considering that he was, well... you know... a fascist dictator. :)
Oh yeah one other thing, he did seem to do well with the ladies too, for a time...

Isn’t Mussolini’s granddaughter a Italian rep to the EU?
She might have an opinion.

Yes I knew that.
I just didn’t know if she was still in office.
Wasn’t she at one time a movie star & Italian rock & roll singer?
I remember her as being very easy on the eyes for a politician.
