Bell himself has since confirmed the deal as well...four years, $52.5 million with $35 million guaranteed and the possibility to go up as high as $61 million with incentives. For the Jets, this is a pretty major win. They added a bona fide offensive playmaker to pair with their young star quarterback Sam Darnold, and Bell's ability to be a short-yardage passing weapon shouldn't be underrated when it comes to how he'll fit in Adam Gase's offense.

Hes proven himself a drama queen. Jets can have him.
Running backs are interchangeable, and their careers are shorter than most.
Jets will rue the day.
4 years isn't a long time, and he'll make less per year than the doomed Todd Gurley, whose knees are ruined by arthritis, with the Rams stuck paying him another $60 mil. Bell is in much better shape, having held out all year from the Steelers.
Yes, glad he and the other drama queen are gone!
I would invest the money in hiring the best OL coach and linemen, then it won’t matter who the RB is.
Unfortunately, he is 27, and he did not play last year, which often means he will be injury prone all year.
His new contract guarantees $35 million, which is the only number that matters in the NFL.
That's about $2 million more than the guaranteed money Pittsburgh offered last year, so, I guess the holdout was worth it.
On the other hand, starting over with a new team, new coaches, new offensive scheme, and a new backfield is going to be really stressful for a couple months.
Just think how silly all of this is! Here we have athletes (many who are poor role models for the youth of this country) making millions. . .kids wanting their brand of sports shoes which parents are working at least an entire day to buy (I know. . .I substitute teach and the students especially in the Jr. High are always talking how much their shoes cost. . .and probably many picked them up at a resale shop). A distraction from learning. . .like my mother so so so many years ago . . when the “name brands” started appearing on items. . .told my brother, sister and I. . .wearing those clothes, etc. was free advertising for the company. She was a wise and wonderful mother.
The Steelers offered him $70 million over 5 years ($14M per year) last summer, with $45M over the first 3 years ($15M per). $33M was guaranteed. I don’t see how Bell came out ahead seeing as how he lost a whole year’s salary sitting out.
Also, Nick Foles to Jacksonville.
As a Steeler fan I must say I am thrilled to see Bell and Brown both gone. They were and still are a cancer on the NFL. Pittsburgh fans are almost unanimous thrilled they are gone also. Bell gets hurt very easy and has had his knee rebuilt so good luck with him. Brown has had more then his share of concussions and is a trouble maker off the field as well. Last year he got pulled over doing 100 in a 55 zone.
When your slaves stage a revolt, you’d best get rid of them lest they contaminate the rest of the stable. And then you wish blown out knees, concussions, broken bones, failed drug tests, beating the snot out of baby-mammas...whatever shortens their careers and diminishes their incomes.
“That’s about $2 million more than the guaranteed money Pittsburgh offered last year, so, I guess the holdout was worth it.”
I’m thinking no, since he sat out the entire year and gave up over 14 million in salary that the new deal doesn’t compensate for. He won’t make up that money.
Bell didn’t end up getting what he (and his agent) thought he would get. And now he’s with one of the worst organizations in football, so there is a little bit of justice here.
