Joshua Nerius became privy to his parents’ anti-vaxxer convictions only after he contracted measles himself at 30 years old. Now he’s speaking out against parents who hold similar beliefs, calling them “people who want to spread fear.”
What began as a rash and high fever in the spring of 2016 was later discovered to be none other than measles— a highly contagious, and often life-threatening disease that’s become increasingly rare since the introduction of a vaccine in 1963.
It was only after an emergency room doctor told Nerius his condition strongly resembled measles that Nerius asked his mother if he’d been vaccinated. She responded with a thumbs-down emoji.
Anti-vaxxers, or, those against vaccinations, are often considered to share more of a fringe mindset, often holding steadfast to the belief that vaccinating children can lead to afflictions such as autism. While this claim has been disproved by many reputable sources, fervent anti-vaxxers argue the denial is a conspiracy orchestrated by Big Pharma.
Dr. Paul Offit, who is both a professor of pediatrics at University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and director of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, spoke to CNN about the children he treated during 1991’s measles outbreak in the City of Brotherly Love. “They were absolutely miserable. And occasionally, they were dead,” he said, referencing the nine children who died as a result of the outbreak.

I was looking for the outcome of this dude having the measles. He survived. He’s now immune. ??????
I just have a problem with the super-advanced schedule and expectation all are taken.
And Hepatitis B, at five hours old, is freakin’ insane. It shows how crazy the CDC and everyone else is, for a disease you have to get from unprotected sex with an infected person, or from an infected needle.
Babies are in the near-zero risk group for such a vaccine. Are you going to have sex with a one-day old and have Hep B on top of that? Less than 20,000 ever get Hep B a year.
Naw, dying from being unvaccinated as an adult is no big deal. Especially if your parents were too stupid and neglectful to look out for their own kids welfare. Right?
He didn’t get it, and no vaccine is 100% effective, anyway.

AGREED! the only people that are at any risk of ANYthing by not being vaccinated, are those who are un-vaccinated! In a population where most of the individuals are vaccinated, a disease cannot be spread, because there aren’t enough carriers. The only explanation for a rise in the incidence of childhood diseases would be exposure to a largely UNvaccinated population. All that being said; I’m seventy two years old, I wasn’t vaccinated against any childhood disease, (unless you count the (chicken-pox parties we were taken to, to deliberately expose us), and I know of NO one who died of a childhood disease, except one school mate who died from rheumatic fever-— for which there is no vaccination. Why did the Clintons deliberately shut down all the companies that made vaccines in the US?

Most anti-vaxxers are liberal. And they’re against genetically modified foods and industrial farming.
But let’s hate on nuclear power, a very safe and carbon-free form of energy, and we’d rather millions die of malaria than spray pesticides because a cancer patient lied while writing “A Silent Spring”.
They worship Mother Earth and deny it is a religion, hence the appropriate of the Garden of Eden ethos that is their basis of hating industrial civilization and Christians as unbelievers.
They even stole the Book of Revelations. Let’s scream hellfire (Earth has a fever), seas to acid, sky full of ashes, famine, plague, pestilence. Every disaster is because Mother Earth is angry at us. Let’s sacrifice our children to her, too. But every failed prediction like no snow by 2018 is irrelevant, we’re sure this new prediction of doom is so true - convert, repent, and ye may live!
Same here - measels, chicken pox, polio - all preventable by vaccines. But the sheer number of diseases being immunized against and all at one time in an infant body CANNOT be good for the baby.

That’s one of the things liberals ignore in the whole vaccination and disease discussion - uncontrolled immigration.
A lot of these cases are caused by illegal immigrants and their children brought here without disease screening. That’s the only reason ebola hit the US - like the Dallas case.
That is the only reason we have drug resistant TB in the US. Or leprosy clinics in LA.
If you want socialized healthcare, you can’t afford it taking care of everyone else’s sick and the unscreened bringing third world diseases to the U.S.

Bingo! JUST what I was going to say! Remember the stories coming out last year of this disease that was paralyzing kids? It wasn’t polio, it was some new thing that doctors couldn’t figure out. But then when it was suggested by one doctor that maybe the open border had something to do with it, that the LAST time the media talked about THAT! Risking kids lives now because nothing is more important than importing votes for Democraps.
