Punxsutawney Phil is wanted groundhog, communities ‘upset' after blown forecast

He promised spring was right around the corner, but it appears that Punxsutawney Phil has lied.

On Feb. 2, Phil announced to the awaiting crowd that there was going to be an early spring. It was one of a handful of times the weather prognosticating rodent didn’t see his shadow and the first since 2016.

But the cheers of a soon-to-be spring have transitioned to the sounds of teeth chattering and shovels picking up snow.

The Delaware County sheriff in Indiana says Phil is a wanted groundhog for crimes and acts against nature, WTHR reported.

Middletown police in Ohio also said Phil's wanted for crimes against nature, and their description hits slightly below the belt, saying he's "carrying a lil' holiday weight."

This perp better not show up on some dark street corner which will obviously be covered with snow.

This is what happens when you believe future weather predictions made by a big, fat ‘RAT. Punxsutawney is a con man and a hoax artist. Don’t believe what he says, watch what he does. He was wearing a fur coat when he made his prediction. Algore is the same way.

No soup for you, Phil.
(Or should that be, no bushes, shrubs, garden veggies.)

Don’t blame the poor rodent. He’s just the latest victim of climate change.

Phil died about two weeks ago.
Maybe they should say “Wanted: Dead or Alive”.

For the record.......

In East Tennessee, we are in fact having an early spring. I visited central Georgia last week and they are experiencing unseasonably warm weather. In both locations there has been rain far beyond normal averages.

In both places there is a fear that a day or two of very low temps will kill off the emerging plant life.

I was cutting trees in a foot of snow and 15 degree temps last weekend. I ran my Chainsaws, Tractor and Quad as much as I could.

It was 5 degrees this morning when I went out to warm up the Truck.Evidently I didn’t have any effect of Globull Warming up here.
