Last weekend, I saw the same thing on TV - a Somali “spokesman” demanding more social programs and more police patrols.
But the bottom line is whenever the police do investigate a crime involving Somalis, they clam up completely or use the usual “I’z didn’t sees nuffin” line. There is an almost absolute wall of silence when trying to deal with the Somali community.
Truth be told, this matter is one best handled by the Somalis themselves. Sooner or later, the elders will get sick of it and they’ll decide to deal with it as they say “in-house”.
