Senate has votes to block Trump’s emergency declaration: McConnell

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he expects his chamber will have the votes to pass a resolution blocking President Trump’s national emergency declaration, but an effort to override a presidential veto will fail in the House. “I think what is clear in the Senate is that there will be enough votes to pass the resolution of disapproval, which will then be vetoed by the president and then in all likelihood the veto will be upheld in the House,” McConnell said Monday. He said the Senate vote would happen before the lawmakers go on a one-week recess March 15.

Once more, Republican elites stab a true Republican President in the back.

It has been the life’s work of Bush League Republicans to fundamentally transform this country. It’s all about completing the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).

They are not going to allow us to stop it, much less reverse it unless they are removed from office.

In 2020, these Senators must be replaced with patriots who side with the citizens and the rule of law:

Gardner, McSally, Daines, Collins, Cornyn, Capito, Enzi, Rounds, Graham, Tillis, Sasse, Hyde-Smith, McConnell.

I tweeted Trump to take this list of names and ask McDaniel
the RNC chair not to give them any money. Also, the Senate reelect committee should not endorse or give these traitors any money.

Let them get their funding from their masters the Koch brothers, Chamber of Ho’s , club for growth, and other cheap labor express donors.

Mitch should not bring this up but if he does he should take away chairmanships, committee assignments, or he is no leader and should be replaced. I think there are more than 17 out there and I hope they all face tough primary opponents.

Don’t forget to Tweet Trump that he has to start fighting
these fools.

70,400 deaths last year is an emergency. Not one of these fool ever said a word about the Obama Emergency EO did they.

"after all the love at CPAC. The GOP is the enemy of the people."

Tragic just how easily they are throwing our country away, after so many have paid the ultimate price that it wouldn't be destroyed.

Trump administration should publish the vote. Let America see who is loyal to this country.

Why does Mitch think he is under an obligation to LET it come to a vote. The damned low life back stabber.

The Dems control part of Government so Mitch has to join them like they joined and helped Obama

Does anyone think that if a Democrat President declared a national emergency a single Democrat would oppose him?

This kind of crap is why I quit giving to the Republican party.

Do you understand what you are saying here? The Republicans hold 53 seats in the Senate, out of 100. Four GOP Senators have decided to vote no. What would you have the Republican Party or Senator McConnell do about it? Collins, Murkowski, and Paul are not conservatives and are only Republicans because it's convenient for them. They are both Democrats and Liberals in all but label. And yes, I know that Paul claims to be a Libertarian. Just like Nancy Pelosi is a Libertarian, LOL.

What would you have the Republican Party or Senator McConnell do about it?

Remove them from their high-level committee memberships ... assign them to the equivalent of a being-sent-to-Siberia committee and let them rot there. Cut off party funds to them for reelection funds, government perks, and legislative pork-projects

If they change parties as a result, at least there'll be some honesty in their truth-in-packaging ...

Corny, Mitch control Senate re elect funds, and RNC Ronna controls RNC purse. Trump should tweet the names of his back stabbers, what they are doing is quite a departure from just going along with similar Obama emergencies.

Either your party has discipline and backs their leader their president or they back stab him and have allegiance to their corporate donors the Chamber of Ho’s, the Koch’s, business roundtable, Silicon Valley, Soros.
But lets get primary challengers for these backstabbers there is time to find opponents to run against them

Remember Eric Cantor, Boner, Ryan, Corker, Flake all gone, they knew the folks wanted them gone.

Take these traitors and expose their treachery and they can be Kicked out too.

That a very good suggestion and it certainly applies to Collins and Murkowski, there is an advantage for those Senators who have both seniority and political power among other Senators. In addition, both of them are female and Republicans must trod carefully in that minefield.

The bottom line is that we do have a majority, but we are going to continue kissing some frogs until we win more races.

Seventeen excellent reasons to never give donations to the Republican Party. In fact, when they call ask them if these seventeen (especially Collins and Murkowski because they NEVER vote for in support of conservative issues) have been removed, as recipients of RNC campaign funding because you will not donate until they are.

IF Trump is writing an EO, Congress doesn’t have any say in any of it.
