Arguably the most speculated set of physical measurements in the history of the NFL draft is officially in the books. And as it turns out, Oklahomas Kyler Murray stacks up well with Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, another short stature NFL quarterback who challenged the leagues prototype mold.
Murrays official height: 5-foot-10 and 1/8th.
His weight: 207 pounds.
His hand size: 9 1/2 inches.

The most hyped up height measurement in NFL Combine history. I wonder if Murray did exercises to stretch his ligaments to get some more height. As a comparison Russell Wilson is 5'11".

Mark Clayton of Dolphin’s fame was only 5’9”. And I believe he was a wide receiver.

Yup... And Russel Wilson can actually play football. The problem is most short QB’s do not pan out. Wilson was the exception to that rule, but his defense and running game was key to his winning.
Flutie ran a lot, but it was usually for his life, and given the right circumstances he may have even won a title when he played, but short doesn’t usually equate with success even in today’s NFL where the QB is more protected than ever.
6’-3” or 4” is you prototypical QB and the perfect height for success.

Hand size determines ability to grasp the football - more important at pro level. Murray lacks that attribute.
Kyler Murray hand size: 9 1/2”
Russell Wilson hand size: 10 1/4”

Hard to see over those linemen at less than six feet. Are NFL linemen that much bigger than today's college linemen?

Running back Lionel “Little Train” James played at Auburn with Bo Jackson in the 1980s. He was listed at 5’6” and 171 pounds. He played during an era with a few other short NFL running backs like Joe Morris of the Giants and Joe Washington of the Redskins.

The rest of the story:

This incident alone renders him ineligible to be president. He claims he was looking for his wife.

Murray should stick to baseball.
He’ll thank himself for it when he reaches 50.

As a comparison Russell Wilson is 5'11". I didn't realize that - he plays taller.

In other news I saw where Johnny Manziel has been banned from the Canadian Football League, something about breach of contract.

Unless they want to groom Murray before naming him a started. That would be a smart move.

Are NFL linemen that much bigger than today's college linemen? He lined up behind some pretty big dudes on that OU offensive line.
