Toni Harris became the first female football player at a skill position to sign a letter of intent for a football scholarship on Tuesday when she committed to Central Methodist University in Missouri.
The Detroit native currently plays free safety for East Los Angeles Community College. Harris took to Twitter to announce the news.
"Such a cry baby but I'm ready for my new journey @CMUEaglesFB!"

I have no beef with women's sports. If the skill level is up, it can be as interesting as men's. In general, they shouldn't mix. IMO.
This women is articulate and very well spoken. It was not what I expected. I don’t think she will last 2 years at the JUCO... but I wish her well. She is a winner.
It would be nice if we could again make history in a positive, sane way. Now it seems in the process of making history we only make caricatures of ourselves.
I think some savvy Division I womens basketball coach should recruit a bunch of trannies to make feminist history. With a bunch of guys like that itd Glory Road 2.0
Congratulations young lady!
She earned a scholarship based on merit and I hope she does well.
That being said, I doubt she will last for long even at the college level. Time will tell for sure.
Awesome. Good luck to her. The best players should get to player regardless of their genitals. If she’s the best she should play.
So precisely one female potentially may play college football, in a national college football universe of 50,000, or more, players.
What does it prove, exactly?
Sounds like a publicity stunt for the school.
= = =
Yep.
Will she play?
No other school gets her (good or bad).
I remember a story from a couple of years ago.
Parents sue High School so that daughter can play on team.
They win.
Daughter plays and gets a ruptured spleen.
Parents sue High School......
I remember that!
I think it was in Maryland.
Football is not my sport but if she was she “had offers from four schools.” This is clearly not a stunt and she obviously has something to offer; so good luck to her.
I think Serena Williams would have made a good linebacker.
She’s on defense so she is going to have to cover receivers, TE’s and stop/tackle RB’s.
she will crumple the first time 250lb linebacker or any other decently sized player hits her.
What the heck was she thinking?
Unless, of course this is all a con job to get a free ride to college.
This is a Div I NAIA school.
In my experience, there are probably dozens if not hundreds of guys on rosters at NAIA schools of similar size and ability.
I’m not dissing the quality of play at NAIA schools, they do produce a few NFL level players, but on average it’s not like the college ball you see on tv every Saturday.
How about the “moocher”?
“Prediction: Her career ends in a particularly hard, but legit, hit. She then sues the school and league.”
can you make this wager on an online casino so I can bet on it?
Never heard of this tiny division 3 school. But I assure you that if it is Methodist it is liberal as hell.
