A Manhattan legislator said Monday that she appreciates the vandal who defaced a Florida statue honoring the sailor kissing a female nurse in Times Square to mark the end of World War II because it was a forced smooch.
I appreciate someone recognizing that a random man grabbing a random woman is completely inappropriate, City Councilwoman Helen Rosenthal, who chairs the Committee on Women, told The Post after a hearing on adding more monuments in the city honoring women and minorities.

Looks like a younger version of “Running Gray Beaver”...and just as pathetic.
These people are mental.. What happened 70 years ago is what?
Now, one of the bull dykes in Øbowel's new military, no prolema!
I’m sorry if you live in NY City, but I simply can not wait for the next financial crisis to take that place down several notches.
Ah, sack dresses. And purple people eaters. And Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny. LOL
But both of the songs you mentioned are from the '50.
More like LOUIE LOUIE, Yesterday, THE SOUND OF SILENCE, STAND BY ME, THE WANDERER.
I was thinking around 1959, the year the high school girls came back from Christmas break wearing sack dresses.
>Just plain ignorant.
>The boys were coming home!! Including my dad and 6 uncles.
My dad too, along with a couple of uncles.
Sorry to put it this way, but we Deplorables must learn to kill if we are to survive. These people who call themselves progressives hate us and they want us dead.
Jeez— go brush your yellow teeth and take a freaking bath- in something other than lilac water. You got dishwater hair, too. In short— your several layers of makeup short of a human being.
Looks like a Kennedy shemale.
Yes, he did. And someone should tell ms. rosenthal that the man MARRIED the woman, and they stayed married FOR LIFE.
It was THAT kind of kiss- one this biotch will never get... in her life, and thus have to wax indignant and “speak for all women”.... rather women as unpleasant as she is.

The late '50s and '60s BEFORE '68, were also the years of what is now called the PREPPY look...which was VERY 1920s for both sexes! And boys, in prep school, who were Seniors were quite pipe smokers.
Ummmmmmmmm...no he did NOT marry her!
I went into the military in 1961 and missed those years of fashion. Best I can recall were peter pan collars. If that was even a thing.
I haven’t turned on my TV for some time.
I have in the last year (antenna) but only for an old rerun channel and a broadcast movie channel. Maybe something noir.
Peter Pan collars ( and yes, there was such a thing! ) were mid ‘50s through the first 1/2 of the ‘60s. It was an era when everyone dressed nicely ( except for the “hoody”/”greaser” kids...the BLACKBOARD JUNGLE wear ), no matter income level/social strata. Men still wore suits and hats ( though JFK killed the men’s hat business ) to baseball games, everyone dressed up for church, to go on a plane, and very, VERY different/better than today.
Have you also noticed that the phrase "Men and women..." has flipped and is now nearly always "Women and men...", and that car commercials nearly always have the woman driving, and the man either sitting on his hands in the passenger side, or sitting in the back seat?
