I worked with some young college grads a few years ago and they could not calculate the correct change for a cash retail purchase.

They relied 100% on the cash register to calculate the change back from the amount tendered.

But sometimes they would enter the incorrect amount tendered.

No problem - whatever the cash register calculated is the amount of change they returned!
