After decades of being a fan, I finally saw ZZ Top about ten years ago in NYC. I thought their setlist would be heavily weighted toward Legs etc. Happily, it was a great mix of old and new, though I wish they played Heard it on the X and all of My Head's In Mississippi.

As for Sure Got Cold After the Snow Fell, as my old guitarist said to me, the rests are just as important as the notes.

I lived about a mile from XERF on the US side of the border in Del Rio. We couldn't get any signals from any radio station from the 1400-1600 because of the bleed from it. For the longest ZZ’s songs hit on experiences we had on the border and enough of them made me wonder if they'd been living there too.
