Think about all of our jobs that ended up in India in particular; let them fight it out.
I go to India a fair amount on biz; the folks I have met are educated, speak wonderful English, are very friendly toward Americans and very westernized. And some of the Indian food is just great. Sure, you can find places and people that are weird and where you wish you weren’t but by the way, have you walked down the sidewalks in the business districts of San Francisco or Denver lately? Have you gotten s*** on your shoes or been threatened by a nasty homeless person demanding money? Have you ridden the subway in New York? Contrast this with the Smoky Mountains, summer Montana, the heart of Arizona and central Pennsylvania; sadly we have become two different countries and I know which one I want to live in, just as there would be a similar choice between India and Pakistan.

Pakistan could offer assistance in Afghanistan; it was a convenient alliance for us at the time.

If India gets into a fight with Pakistan, expect an uprising of their Muslim population, which would result in expulsion of their Muslims.
And don’t forget Bangladesh.

Actually, 15 of the 19 were Saudis, along with 4 from Egypt, UAE and another country I can’t recall. Also, a Yemeni was replaced with the 15th Saudi, due to not being able to obtain a visa.
Iraq was invaded for WMD, nothing to due with 911. Afghanistan was invaded due to the Taliban allowing AQeada to base and train in their country.
I’ve seen no convincing evidence that Saudi Intel knew specifics on the terror attack. The US has some evidence on a few individuals they suspected, but nothing specific on the 911 attack.
The reason, Bin Laden chose the attackers was because they had good English skills, knew western culture and Saudis obtain visas easier than many other Mid Eastern countries.
The Saudis “did it” myth is just that. The Saudis were also in a long running fight against AQ and Bin Laden.
China is not going to war with the US over Pakistan or any other country. We are to close, that’s to Donald John Trump.

Oddly I just read an editorial in India Times that was explicitly headlined “Pakistan Must Die”. The author was serious, and made a good case, for reasons that I believe most FReepers would agree with.

Yeah, he’s awesome. I got 3 calls last week from these scammers. I just let it go to answering machine. Sometimes the automated voice is in broken English. LOL! Will call back sometime and use some Hindi swearing.
