Be honest, straight men: You all want to know what women want. Luckily, a bunch of scientists have wondered the same thing.
These types of studies are often small, and frequently rely on self-reported feelings in a lab, which may be different from how women truly react in real life. And the participants are often Western college students, who are not an especially a diverse group. So take the results with a grain of salt.
But hey, whatever helps, right?
Here are 11 science-supported traits that women find irresistible.
1. Good looks can be a factor, but they're not as important as you may think. In studies, women typically choose better-looking guys for flings, not long-term relationships.
2. A sense of humor is important to women. Scientists have found it makes men seem more intelligent.
3. For long relationships, women tend to prefer altruistic men who are kind and do good deeds.
4. In studies, women choose men posing in front of expensive cars or apartments, versus ordinary ones, possibly because they make the men appear rich.
5. Women may like older men because they've had time to accumulate more resources.
6. Facial hair has been an attraction and a repellent in studies, so that feature is likely based on preference. Do what you want with your face; you'll attract the right mate.
7. Older research concluded that people liked when other people liked them, but recent studies have found that "playing hard to get" could be an effective tactic. When men are unavailable, that might make women want them more.
8. Small studies have indicated that men with dogs do better with the ladies.
9. In one speed-dating experiment, women were more attracted to men who were mindful present, attentive, and nonjudgmental.

I don’t know how old you are, but 36 is young, for a woman or a man. There is no “wall” at 36.
At any age, one can let oneself go. Otherwise, there’s no reason a woman can’t look young into her late 40’s, at least.
I’ve known several women married to much younger men. One woman was 40, and her husband was 22. She was a devoted Christian, too, pregnant with twins at the time. For the record - not a fan of a big age difference myself. But it worked for the couples I knew/have known. Maybe because, in those cases, the women looked as young as their younger husbands.
Mexican standoff. I mean, after you’ve divorced Bill, who is going to ask you out? Who would be at your level that you’d say “yes” to him?

You know nothing about the lives of beautiful women. Nothing.
I’ve written nothing embarrassing nor ignorant. You dare to write to me when just a brief overview of this thread shows angry and disgusting comments about women? Instead of teaching your sons to avoid “whores” (I wonder what that definition means to you) why don’t you teach them love, respect and sexual restraint?
I also notice you play upon that other anti-woman freeper theme: hiding hatred of women behind religious fakery.
Any guy thinking about getting married should watch Sam Kinison tales for a while beforehand.
Just kidding.
I miss Sam. He was one of the best.
I chastise and berate my wife...but she knows I suffer from low self-esteem, so she gives me a pass...
Lol. And you do?
I seriously don’t have a lot of sympathy for a beautiful woman who has to sit home because men think she’s unapproachable. That’s a “problem” I suspect a lot of women would die for.
Men without previously enjoyed families are the new hot item.
No need to put up with the antics of the ex-wife and the stepchildren marching to her orders to derail his current relationship.
Admit it. You get a lot of fun ranting about misogyny on threads like this.
I am eight years older than my husband. His family genetics don’t “age well.”
On the other hand, my parents (as well as I) got proofed at bars WELL into our thirties...when the drinking age was 18. I also take fairly good care of myself. People are often shocked when they press me for my real age. I’m no Jack Benny though and don’t lie about my age. :)
And why are YOU on all these threads? And, like the one above, you always bring a little religiosity into your lewdness.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Guys go for women in the young-to-mid-20s over 35-and-up almost unanimously.
...if age doesn't matter, does that hold for men too? So that what Judge Roy Moore did (age 30-ish, asking out, with their mothers' permission, teenage girls) was nothing wrong?

I’m on a lot of threads, if you want to check my forum history. You just notice me more on this type of thread, because that’s where YOU go.
I had to save that meme
Oh, so you admit you troll me. The mods might have an interest in that. I’ll alert them.
Men are designed to preferentially seek out the women who are most likely to bear healthy babies, and who have their most fertile years in front of them. That translates into women under 30.
Much of what we regard as "beauty" is really a set of indicators for female health, fitness, and youth. Yes, older guys do date older women, but how much of that is due to having to settle for what they can get?
Your reading comprehension needs work.
That isn't what he said. He accused you of selection bias.
