...and they still sound good, even on CD. A lot of the 60s music sounds horrible now because it was designed to sound ok coming out of a 2 speaker. It breaks my heart that the Turtles music sounds like it was recorded with a telephone. Whats wrong with it cant be fixed digitally.
The production equipment at Columbia/Colgems was the finest analog equipment that could be built at the time, at any price.
