He was wearing a pair of Nike’s Kaepernick Ultra Kneelers when all hell broke loose.

Barry, destroyer of nations, was sitting just behind the Duke bench. The Curse of Obama strikes again.

Ironically, after embracing ‘take a knee’ Kaepernick, Nike took this guys knee.

Mild knee sprain.

Kentucky’s Reid Travis suffered a similar injury against Missouri last night.

I just watched (MOST) of the UNC victory! Saw Williamson fall. Didn’t know he tore out of his Nike shoe so thanks for that info. Even with him out, it was a GREAT victory for the Tar Heels because Duke is a great team even without Williamson.... and it was made even sweeter by the fact that Obama’s presence was a JINX!

Grrr - ESPN stopped broadcasting here after the start of the second half. I didn’t know but it was also supposed to be on WRAL - local station - but when I finally learned that and turned the channel to WRAL, the screen was black for that channel too! GRRR.

I had the radio on the UNC station so I got to HEAR the rest of the game there. As of now, WRAL and ESPN are still blacked out. Anybody else have this situation?

Why did that kid play at Duke for nothing when it made economic sense for him to play professionally for beaucoup bucks. Should have played in Europe if self serving NBA rules prevented him from joining the league out of high school or middle school for that matter. He should sue the NBA if its rules specifically prevented teams from signing him.

I had a pair of Nike running shoes do the same thing last year. The tread peeled off in pieces from the midsoles, and then the midsoles started separating from the uppers on both shoes. I wound up throwing them away after only a month of regular use. I’d never had running shoes fall apart like that. The glue they used was not doing its job. I won’t buy another pair of Nike.

Had a pair like your experience; the sole separated from the top. Sent them back to Nike, they returned them and did not give a flying f.... Have never bought a Nike shoe since—that was over 20 years ago, and I never will.

[Duke's Zion] Williamson will be the subject of a massive bidding war for his shoe deal, which some are estimating could be worth $100 million. He’ll be flooded with other endorsement opportunities from the moment he becomes a pro. There’s going to be an entire industry built around his brand. Williamson doesn’t get to pick his first NBA team, but he does get to pick his agent. If you’ve been paying attention to Duke games lately, you’ve seen some famous faces in the crowd that may or may not be trying to get his attention. Klutch Sports is the infamous LeBron James-affiliated agency run by his close friend, Rich Paul. It doesn’t take a detective to figure out they’re making a play to sign Williamson. With the Lakers on an East Coast road trip right before the All-Star Break, LeBron James and teammate Rajon Rondo made an appearance at Duke’s game against Virginia in Charlottesville. Uncoincidentally, NBA Sports agent Rich Paul was there, too...

Zion Williamson is a good player.

This is very sad, a huge problem for Duke’s title hopes.

Yep. Short Nike.

But, in fact, the shoes didn’t cause the sprain.

If you watch the replay, the right knee sprain started, then he tried to brake with his left leg. That’s when the left shoe popped.
