My bet is that the teachers had no idea what the awards were going to be for. they were thinking of innoculess things and left it up to the students who did not tell the adults involved what awards were going to be given.

I have to admit, whenever I'm at a banquet dinner, I always look at the dinner plates served to those around me to see who got the biggest breasts, the most potato and veggies, and salad portions.
Those banquet chicken dinners can be brutally unfair with portion sizes.
