"Downfall" Actor Bruno Ganz Dies at 77

The Swiss actor died at his home in Zurich following a long illness.

Ach du liebe. I never saw the real Downfall, but this actor did an excellent job and I’ve laughed over his famous scene with countless current event humorous subtitles. Which was always difficult for me as I perfectly understand the German. Ruhe in Frieden.

Yes, there were many, many suicides. Over a million German women were raped in Berlin, alone. The Russians were worse than animals.

I know a lady in her late 80’s who survived the war. Her parents smeared ashes on the girls and grease in their hair and anything else to make them unattractive. The Russians didn’t care.
