Not long ago, I wrote about the most overrated hits songs of all time. I love compiling lists like those because they allow me to get in touch with my snarky side as well as rant a little. In that post four months ago, I mused about doing a list of overrated artists. Well, the time has come.
Here are the ten most overrated musical artists of all time. Dont get me wrong: I like some of the music by some of these artists, and though there are only a few bands and solo performers I completely despise, youll find that I dont hold back on how little I care for many of the folks on this list.
Believe me, Im aware that Im going to ruffle some feathers with this list. Im fine with that, because taste in music is always subjective. But as you read the list, keep an open mind and see if you agree with me. And even if you dont, just have fun reading it

Has anyone spoken the truely most over rated yet ...?
The Greatful Dead... yuck
I saw Zeppelin at the Baltimore Civic Center.
That place had some great shows. We went there a lot.
I am. I love their song "Red Barchetta" for its words and the cry for freedom it expresses, but I can't actually listen to it.
That is certainly true. Probably half the Stones’ numbers were variations of Delta Blues, and the rest were definitely influenced.
Re Journey: I haven’t listened to their earliest albums.
Re Stones: Yeah, I know. Still an absolutely terrible song. Stones had their era and some gems (pardon the pun) (”Sympathy for the Devil,” “You can’t always get what you want,” “Paint it black”) But holy moley, when they were bad, they were utterly stupifyingly bad.
Eagles: Definitely my fault for being misunderstood. I meant they had almost as little to do with country-fried rock as Brit pop. Although somehow I had it in my head that Joe Walsh was from somewhere like New Zealand or the U.K.
The author of the article agrees with you. Springsteen's at #4.
You *did* read the article, right?
Nope, just mt $.02
Not by me, but I hear ya.

Have always loved The Pretenders. Maybe I just have a thing for Chrissie Hynde I don't know. But every time I tune into Rush Limbaugh, there's I Went Back to Ohio....
Katy Perry is indeed white.
Just as an aside she dated some well-known actor for a while (can't remember his name). He described it as a toxic experience LOL!
Me too. Saw many shows at the old Civic Center. Jethro Tull, Little Feat, CSNY, Foghat, Robin Trower and others.
The Tubes “The Completion Backwards Principle” - 1981
Oh I soooooo agree!
Evette Evil and the Daughters of Darkness. Although, she was quite visual on stage.
Better Than Ezra does not hold a candle to Ezra
Agree!
Meat Loaf is horrible.
There's nothing that he can “rock”...however being reasonably attractive and covering your body with toos will always garner a following of likewise fans who fawn over the Adam Levine has no range guy rather than the artistic ability lacking.
Agree and his band gives me a migraine.
I cannot even look at them.
