FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A Canadian woman was arrested Tuesday at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after making what she called a "stupid joke" about a bomb in a suitcase.
Nathalie Tremblay and her boyfriend had boarded an Air Canada flight bound for Montreal when a flight attendant asked whose bag would not allow an overhead bin to close.
According to the arrest report, Tremblay told the flight attendant, "There's a bomb in it" and began laughing.
The attendant alerted the pilot, who ordered the plane to be evacuated, while the terminal was forced to close as a Broward Sheriff's Office bomb squad was called to the scene.
Tremblay originally told investigators that she had actually said, "I hope there's not a bomb in there," before admitting and apologizing for saying, "It's probably a bomb."
The bomb squad eventually cleared the scene and passengers were allowed to re-board the flight.
Tremblay was arrested on a charge of making a false report over a bomb threat.

Not sure if it’s still true, but at one time in Japan if someone caused a train to be late (car stopped on the tracks that type of thing) then they were expected to provide some compensation to the passengers that were impacted in the way of “I’m sorry” or “gomennasai” money.
I actually had to perform a similar act for the Navy as the presenting officer when a sailor had a car accident with someone.
It’s not considered an admission of guilt, but just proper social etiquette. In the case of the Navy they felt even if the sailor(s) weren’t at fault it was a solid way to build up good will with the community for a small amount of funds.
. ...well, good thing the feds got Nathalie off the street instead of Hillary! s/
Another mistaken bomb threat, maybe it needs a thread of its own:
“According to the arrest report, Tremblay told the flight attendant, “There’s a bomb in it” and began laughing.”
Haha, LOL, haha, haha, aren’t we funny!
Some advice to Flaming Leftists (as she obviously is, based on the picture) - don’t try cracking jokes, they won’t work.

So, what damages would be proper for a couple hours of inconvenience? Lawyers won’t take it because a cumulative case wouldn’t reap their fees and the complainants would get pennies....Suing should be relegated to consequential items - consequential to adults, not snowflakes...
Missed meetings, meals, hotel costs if it results in an unanticipated overnightstay, OT for portal to portal travelers just to name a few off the top of my head.
All valid points but still peanuts when it comes to actual damages worth suing some stupid twit that probably can’t afford to pay 2 or 3 of them-—lawyers make money from complainants and complainants get zip from trying to wring water from a rock.
