Sen. Kamala Harris said this morning she supports “some type of” reparations to black Americans for slavery.
In an interview with the “Breakfast Club,” a radio show on New York City’s Power 105.1, host Charlamagne asked Kamala Harris about reparations. “Where do you stand on some form of reparations for black people? Here you see Mayor De Blasio saying the marijuana economy could be a form of reparations. Marianne Williamson says black people should get a hundred billion in slave reparations–like, where do you stand on it?”
Harris responded:
Well look, I think that we have got to address that again, it’s back to the inequities. There, through–look, America has a history of 200 years of slavery. We had Jim Crow. We had legal segregation in America for a very long time. The Voting Rights Act was only strong for 50 years and then they wiped it out with this United States Supreme Court in the Shelby decision, to the point that 22 states immediately thereafter put in place laws that one court found were crafted with surgical precision to have black people not be able to vote.”
So we’ve got to recognize, back to that earlier point, people aren’t starting out on the same base, in terms of their ability to succeed and so we have got to recognize that and give people a lift up. And, there are a number of ways to do it. Part of my initiative again around the ‘Lift Act’ is that same point–you lifting people up who are making less than a hundred thousand dollars a year. What I want to do about rent is the same thing. What we need to do around education and understanding disparities, what we need to do around HBCUs. But we have a history of racism in America.
Charlamagne asked again, “So you are for some type of reparations?”
“Yes I am, yes I am,” Harris responded.

Ms. Harris: I forgot to ask, would the reparations be from the Arabs and other Blacks who capture blacks to sell them into Slavery and would blacks WHO OWNED SLAVES be paying the reparations? Also, how about the black thug who stole my Trek bike, that I saved for, will I get reparations from the thugs or I can’t because of me being ‘white’?

There is no one currently alive in the entire world who legally owned a slave in the United States (and hasn’t been for roughly a century), nor is there anyone in the world who was legally held as a slave (and hasn’t been for roughly a century). So, I repeat, GFY!!
Liberia doesn’t seem to often give the US a hard time, so from our point of view I would call that a win.
I wonder how many prisoners would take the offer to say dock ten years off their sentences in exchange for permanently moving to Africa? Oh heck, I’ll be generous and offer them 20 years off of life prison sentences as long as they stay gone.

If he hangs on there won’t be a Confederate statue in the state by the end of his term. Once the Confederate statues are wiped out George Washington and Thomas Jefferson will be next in in line. Perhaps Monticello and Mt. Vernon can be torn down to make space for more Section 8 housing.

Not really — a complete PARDON upon boarding the outgoing plane and a shoot on site order should they EVER cross the border or enter into any possession of the US.

Would clean out the system, keep recidivism to near zero and save tons of money.
Also maybe give ANYONE that wants to leave a medium bonus with the same ‘return policy’.
I really hope black reparations becomes part of the Dem platform. Whites are already disgusted with the identity politics. Now Dems can build up some resentment among Asians and Hispanics so they can feel some of the blowback on what identity politics leads to. Asians who are discriminated against in college admissions should be particularly offended. Hopefully the Dems will become exclusively the party of black and gay folk and stay a permanent minority with 15 per cent of the vote.

I heard that song a long time ago.
Blacks started getting reparations with the Great Society, and it has only gotten more so. To hear the ferals, it has only made matters worse. We should have picked our own cotton.
Some said, and I don’t remember who, these are people holding out a handful of “gimme” and a mouthful of “not enough.”
