Nancy said that if a Democrat president wins, they will make the case that our citizens are a threat to national security and then declare an emergency authorizing the military to seize our firearms. Not sure this position will help them much in 2020.

Since 2001, POTUS has used emergency declarations for appropriations *18 times.*
It's interesting to see how many center-right interventionist pundits have changed their views on appropriation transfers pursuant to POTUS emergency declarations.
None of them batted an eye in 2006 when Bush tried to build a massive Gitmo courthouse by declaring an emergency.
