These guys like to play football. Fun to watch.
I imagine the players are NFL rejects. Really good players, but not quite NFL good.
They were talking on the pregame about some of these guys missing the NFL cut by a tenth of a second. It’s way cool they’re getting this chance to play.
Fleet looks good, though. Well-coached. Hope they get a lot of local support.
Sounds like a potential fit for Tebow.
San Antonio wins, 15-6.
I was watching the game, and the announcers noted quite a few players who had played in the NFL at one time or another. And they also noted many had played for major colleges too.
Is this like the equivalent of AAA minor league baseball, being a notch below the major leagues, of players who just didn’t quite make it? If so, you are still seeing quality players out there.
Announcer said the San Antonio defense had six former NFL players, and it showed — sacks & interceptions against San Diego. Still gonna watch, though.

The Ingrate. I was hoping they were going to switch us to the game in the east so I wouldn't have to hear him. No such luck.
The San Diego uniforms look like they had tire tread running up and down them which was appropriate since their OLwas getting run over all night. The first sack by the San Antonio player reminds us why the NFL is no fun anymore. That QB blowed up real good. Future GIF material.

Some are former NFL players while others only played in college. Those with NFL time are helping to provide leadership to the others. SA’s McKay and one or two others were former Cowboys and there were a couple of TCU players.
One thing the announcer said in the second half impressed me. ....All players receive the same pay!
Players can earn bonuses with interceptions, and (I assume) sacks, great catches, passes and runs, TDs, etc.
Moose Johnson (of Cowboys fullback fame) is the GM for the SA team.
No National Anthem? I didn’t see or hear any. Though heard Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless The USA” in the background.
Sorry, no northern cities, so I’m not watching...Besides, NASCAR and baseball seasons are starting...
The quality will stay good if they don’t bow to political correctness, social warriors, and black racists. And I have to ask....do they have a no-kneeling or any other demonstrations during ceremonies on the field rule?
Yes!! :)
