Just 58 percent of Americans are against blackface while 42 percent either condone it or are unsure, a new poll has found.
Between Saturday and Tuesday, YouGov polled 1,500 adults in the United States, asking, Is it acceptable or unacceptable for a white person to wear blackface makeup?
The majority found it unacceptable but 26 percent were unsure. The remaining 16 percent said it was acceptable.
YouGov found more of a disparity in answers among political parties. Twenty-nine percent of Republicans said they are OK with blackface, compared with just 6 percent of Democrats. Sixteen percent of independents found it acceptable.

I can channel my inner dykness, but not my inner blackness - to be quite honest I go through days and weeks at a time contemplating neither my racial identity or my sexual identity nor anything else about my identity except pondering how I offended the gods to be landed in this god-forsaken hell-hole they call DC. Third world shitholes have better road maintenance.
Well all this blackface hysteria sure got the baby slaughtering off the news cycle. Them demoncRats are wiley little monsters.
I guess not in Social Justice World.
Blackface cosmetic used in a theatrical staging presentations goes back hundreds of years very probably used in staging Greek and Roman as well as Shakespeares plays.. More often than not it was used because the story line called for a a black person who was not available to perform in whatever it called for.
While the technique has been often used in satire. Political objectors to the characterization portrayed instead of labeling it as a abuse, are now condemning the means used (blackface) and are calling any use of blackface as racist instead of targeting the story line and the source. Demonstrating just how far we are allowing the revisionists pervert and poison a means of communication to promote their guilt agenda.
I dont get it.. why would it be unacceptable?
Thats as ridiculous as telling me I can not wear a Mexican hat, or a poncho, that I can not wear a sari or some other cultures traditional dress.
Why is it assumed that its demeaning instead of celebrating or expressing admiration of the ethnic group or culture.
Its ridiculous PC culture gone wild mixed with liberal triggering
I’m pretty sure only those who have gone full retard have actually spent any time contemplating if they are for or against “black face”. You have to be doing a lot of recreational “medical” marijuana to even consider spending time contemplating your feelings about “black face.”
I do have trouble understanding why it is offensive; and, apparently, more offensive than murder.
And 42% of Americans deserve to drown in the sea, obviously. /sarc
I do not care about people wearing paint of any color on their face. However, since leftists are against it, we must make them live up to their own standard and destroy any leftist or democrats only when they break that unwritten rule.

I don’t intentionally insult anyone. So steering clear of blackface makes sense. But I have two problems with the current fracas:
1- Going back to the indiscretions of youth to gather ammo for a political hit is unethical. Wasn’t right for Kvavanaugh; isn’t right for Northam.
2- With all the major problems and threats we face in our world, politicians dressing up in blackface nearly 40 years ago while in HS or college is a useless discussion. Northam’s stand on post-birth murder IS a worth public discussion. Moves by some to achieve a socialist state in America or border security are very much issues worthy of public debate.
Seems to me we have purposeful misdirection going on.
Just 58 percent
Leftists are prone to publish things like, “15% of all pregnancies are unplanned,” ignoring the vastly larger number that are planned.
And now we get “just 58%”? “Just?” That’s a large plurality, if not a majority. How can you tell if you’re being manipulated? This is one blatant example.
Ive never thought of people painting their faces black as carrying a profound social or political message in any context. It looks silly.
