A very lucky cat in Montana is happy and healthy after thawing out -- literally -- at an animal clinic over the past week following a miraculous rescue.
The owners of Fluffy, who live in Kalispell, Montana, in the far northwest of the state, found her in a snow bank on Jan. 31 -- unresponsive, with her fur matted with ice. The low in nearby Whitefish was a bone-chilling 8 degrees on Jan. 31, and they had received about 16 inches of snow for the month.

I dont see any cat in that pic.
“The owners wouldnt let the dog be tested, so I had to wait to see if I had to take rabies shots or not. “
Sorry to hear of your troubles...the test for rabies (at least back then) consists of cutting the head off of the suspected animal.
Thought you might like to know.
BTW, have three cats and 12” of snow in the driveway currently, -24 in town this morning, it’s 1 now. I live north of Yellowstone.
Best to you.
I dislike dogs for the very same reasons. That and because they are so needy and smell. My cat preference are Ragdolls. My gosh, what sweet babies!
OMG!!!! Seeing her lying there covered in snow made my heart lurch! Her owners must have been horrified, as I certainly would have been.
She’s a lucky girlie to have survived such an ordeal. Kudos to the vet and crew for managing to save her.
I know!
It was a miraculous recovery!
My boy is not feeling well today, and is off his food.
If he is not better tomorrow, off to the vet he goes!
Thanks for the ping, Sis! She is a lucky little kitty! I saw her picture on Twitter and I don’t know how she was able to survive...no doubt that Maine Coon undercoat helped a lot. Plus lots of love.
I saw that your sweetie was not feeling well. Hope he’s better tomorrow. We NEED a new picture of him, ya know! :)
Lucky for the cat they took her to the vet and didn’t assume she was dead.
I hope Tigermaus feels better tomorrow. They get off their feed once in a while and I’ll offer them a little baby food. I give them two days before a trip to the vet. Third day, off we go.
He threw up a hairball his morning, and thew up 2 more times after that during the day.
Things have quieted down, but he is not interested in anything right now.
Now that’s a real cool cat!
He might just have a little tummy bug. They’re common. That’s why I’ll give them two days before going to the vet. I offer them a jar of baby food (usually the pureed chicken) to kick-start their appetite again if they won’t eat their regular food, plus it’s gentle on their tummy. If they won’t eat that by the third day, we go to the vet.
Mountain Lion like their cat neet, not on the rocks
Poor guy! Hope he’s done with throwing up. Maybe he’ll feel better by morning after a nights rest.
Thanks very much for your advice, ‘Du!
I am just so worried about him!
My poor fur baby!
You’re welcome. You’re probably worrying more than you need to at this point. One day off feed isn’t that unusual. If it was, I’d be a wreck because with all the cats we have, there’s almost always someone off their feed. LOL
I hope he’ll eat like normal by tomorrow so you can relax.
Dense Dunce! Now you need to wear the snow Cone.
Amazing story. This cat is down to eight lives.
The Mt Washington cat [long gone, she'll live in our hearts]
I went to the Snow Bank in Montana to withdraw some snow.
I was in a hurry, so I went to the Snow Bank drive thru.
They sent the snow out in one of those little plastic torpedo thingies.
I took the snow out, but it wasnt all there.
They shorted me on my snow!
So I pushed the button and asked em where the rest of my snow was.
They hemmed and hawed and tried to tell me that my snow was Canadian snow and there was this exchange rate that meant I got less snow back.
That was a bunch of baloney because my snow was as red, white and blue as it gets.
Mostly white.
So I told them I was going to call the snow police.
They decided to give me the rest of my snow.
I told them they had given me too much, so I was going to give them some back.
I sent the little plastic torpedo thingy back.
Thats right.
Yellow snow.
I gave them yellow snow.
Let em put that in their big old vault.
Poor kittie. Very happy she survived. DaisyJane the Kitten (my pampered girl) took three steps onto the snowy porch this morning and made a U-turn.
