The wild thing about this particular Super Bowl matchup, though, is that the phenomenon of teams from the same cities facing off in two consecutive title games is very rare.
By virtue of having Red Sox-Dodgers and Patriots-Rams both taking place in the 2018 (or 2018-2019 season), it marks the first time since Super Bowl III in 1969 that this has happened:
Super Bowl III: Jets-Colts in January 1969, and then in October 1969 Mets-Orioles. Different seasons. Same calendar year.

If I recall correctly, in the spring of 1969, the New York Knicks defeated the Baltimore Bullets in the NBA playoffs. So baseball, football, and basketball playoffs featured New York vs. Baltimore that year.

NY Jets: 16
Baltimore (at the time) Colts: 7
1969 World Series
NY Mets: 4
Baltimore Orioles: 1
1969 NBA Championship
Indeed NY Knicks defeated Baltimore Bullets in playoffs, but championship was between Boston Celts and L.A. Laker and lo behold the Celts won. Sound familiar? Ugh.

Calendar year is more impressive, and since it’s two cities I’ve never lived in,

I'll be fine with it - at long last, an NBA Finals without LeBron James and the endless media attention on him. Credit where it's due - he carried Eastern Conference teams on his back to the Finals for nearly a decade - but enough is enough. He won't be getting the Lakers to the Finals in the much tougher West.

Especially not during the post-season. Bwa-ha-ha-ha! ;^).
Arlington is at least somewhat near Dallas. Jerry Jones has now owned the Cowboys for more than half of their history, it sez here.

Foxborough is actually closer to Providence than to Boston.
Arlington is closer to Fort Worth than Dallas.

He always had these amazing folks around him. Now that he is carrying the team, its a little tougher.
