It is and people have strong sentiments (well informed or not) on both sides. I favor it for two things, term limits and a balanced budget. Congress will never limit itself in such ways so that leaves it to the states to act.

You might say that. It’s been cussed and discussed many times on many threads for quite some time. Proponents can’t stand skeptics and wind up belittling them if they can’t immediately convert them.
There is exactly 2 sides to this argument:
1. The Elitist View: The Article V “convention” should happen because our politicians are inherently good and really do see their job as serving the people. (Trust the politicians and lobbyists/think tanks)
2. The (so-called) Defeatists View: The Article V convention should not take place because politicians are inherently evil and only care about the people in an election cycle. (Don’t trust politicians...at all)
Pretty simple, really.
