Weeks after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., made headlines by calling for a top marginal income tax rate of 70 percent in an interview with “60 Minutes,” her fellow freshman congresswoman, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., suggested that the rich could pay even more.
“There are a few things that we can do,” Rep. Omar said in an interview with “Through Her Eyes.” “One of them, is that we can increase the taxes that people are paying who are the extremely wealthy in our communities. So, 70 percent, 80 percent, we’ve had it as high as 90 percent. So, that’s a place we can start.”
“The one percent must pay their fair share,” she continued.

How long until she proposes jizya on Christians? That’s something that most Democrats could support.
Ask Bernie, who must be raking in a couple mil annually, how he likes the idea of surrendering at least $1.8 to the government every year.
I think we’re a bit passed the point where she’d come around by listening to a sixty year old speech.
Tax congress creatures 90% of ALL income over their base salary from the time they enter congress until they die. Make it retroactive to 1933.

And let’s try punishing them by putting very high sales taxes on luxury goods like planes, jewelry, and yachts that only the wealthy buy.
The Dumbocrats all thought that would be a great idea and tried it some years ago. The result was that yacht and private plane manufacturing in the U.S. dried up as smart buyers bought their luxury goods out of the U.S.. Lots of folks were unemployed and the tax collected bupkiss.
Watch the luxury home market in NYC and Calif as the new tax bill removed the tax deduction for state and local taxes on high priced homes after 10,000. Lots of rich progressives are already howling that their taxes went up.
I call her something else.
