Used to but got fed up with pedantic stuck up liberals pretending to know it all.It calls itself the “magazine of american culture.” It is anything but. Just another rabid leftist rag.

It’s interesting. Some good, some bad. But worth reading from time to time - can you get an online subscription?

I get First Things and Crisis online. Both excellent magazines, although I don’t agree with everything...but then, that’s why you bother to read magazines. Reading them exposes you to other thought, and if you choose the publication carefully, the thought will be within your spectrum even if you don’t agree with everything. It will challenge you to defend yourself better.

I don’t subscribe to Chronicles but pick it up at my local bookstore. I read it regularly.

I even let my subscription to Super Chevy lapse let alone anything that had no pictures and lots of text.

I did for a number of years, long ago. Until I finally figured out what they really were.

They think Monarchy is an acceptable form of government. When I found that out, I was through.

They did have some interesting articles about history.

I first subscribed to Chronicles when it was still called Chronicles of Culture and founder Leopold Tyrmand was the editor. Must have been in the mid 1980s.

It is hard to believe how prescient Chronicles was in writing about the culture war, the threat of mass 3rd world migration, the peril of Islam, and other things that are front burner today.

Chronicles featured a number of old Right writers, paleocons, and they were targeted by neoconservatives who smeared them as racists, xenophobes, and accusations that usually come from the left. David Frum and Dinesh D'Souza were two opportunists who were playing that game, trying to enhance their own MSM cred by throwing conservatives under the bus.

I haven't read Chronicles in years, not because I found anything wrong with it, but just that I stopped subscribing to anything. Don't know if it's as good a read as it once was.
