When South Africa opened its books on the atrocities of the apartheid era in the 1990s, a tantalizing series of faded documents reignited one of the continent’s enduring mysteries. The records suggested that a white militia, operating with the support of the C.I.A. and British intelligence, orchestrated the 1961 plane crash that killed the United Nations secretary general, Dag Hammarskjold.
Twenty years later, a team of documentary filmmakers set out to investigate the shadowy militia, known as the South African Institute for Maritime Research, and to determine whether it had really assassinated Mr. Hammarskjold. What they uncovered, if it is to be believed, was an even more shocking allegation.
In the film, “Cold Case Hammarskjold,” which debuted Saturday at the Sundance Film Festival, a former militia member claims that his organization used phony vaccinations in the early 1990s to spread H.I.V., the virus that causes AIDS, in an attempt to wipe out the black population.
“We were at war,” said the former militia member, Alexander Jones. “Black people in South Africa were the enemy.”

My brother in law had a summer rental in Point o Woods in the early 90s. He was afraid to go but others in the house frequented the place every night. Meatrack was the nickname. The place on Christopher may also have had that nickname. Now I beieve it is called Boot and Saddle. And the numbers of AIDS in the city is on the rise. But with the new meds an epidemic is unlikely unless a resistant strain arises, like has happrned with general STDs like gonorrea.
The Soviets and CP were floating this theory back in the 1980s, without supporting evidence. One version of the theory claimed Jim Jones was doing CIA research on monkeys to develop AIDS as a bioweapon; Jones’ ties to the Soviets did not figure into this theory.
Interesting that Matt Apuzzo actually mentioned that the original AIDS is caused by the CIA story was a Soviet Disinformation project which used friendly Marxist/leftist newspapers in the Third World to spread this story.
As I recall from the State Department hearings and USIA reports (Romerstein and Leventhal), there was a paper in India entitled “Blitz” and another elsewhere entitled “Bild” (possibly a German paper)who started the Soviet’s AISA disinformation program.
I called Dr. Anthony Fauci at the National Institute of Health in DC to ask him directly about the origins of AID and he said it was a natural biological organism, not manmade. (Fauci is still there and working on Ebola and other African killer diseases).
There is a possibility that the Soviets/Russians were behind the Moslem-clerics spread lies about the anti-Polio campaigns that were saving lives in the Indonesian/Sarawak/Sulu region as well as in India and Africa. Some dedicated anti-polio medical workers were brutally killed by Moslem extremists and ignoramuses (and their sacrifice should not be forgotten).
Saner Moslem leaders and clerics finally put a stop to the moslem extremist clerics opposition to the vaccination campaigns.
