It's not all about replicants, Terminators, and galaxies far, far away.

There are many reasons I chose to work in the mechanical trades, and people are on that list.
Yep.
Along those lines I would love to see "The Adolescence of P-1" updated to make a great film.
BYTE criticized The Adolescence of P-1 for what it stated were unrealistic expectations for an artificial intelligence running on 1970s IBM mainframes. It suggested that the author could have set the novel in the 1990s and use fictional future IBM computers to make the plot more plausible.[2]
Thanks for confirming my thesis, eh?
Alicia Vikander has some real acting chops. She’s not a “Hollywood beauty” but she is better than most.
Her IMBD biopage is interesting. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2539953/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm
Colussus was a good movie.
I bought the soundtrack last year.
Some good tunes.

The Monolith Monsters
Hilarious.
Hilarious.
OK, that’s pretty good. The Hans Conried like voice narration, giving that Rocky and Bullwinkle feel, was the best.
Westworld.
The sequel and short lived series, not so much.
Monsters; the ‘Dark Continent’ sequel isn’t worth watching, but the original is one of my all times faves.
Another Star Wars clone.
As is Starcrash. With Caroline Munro and a VERY young David Hasslehoff.
” ‘Idiocracy’? That wasn’t Sci-Fi. That was a future documentary!”
Which brings up the interesting question: what is the difference between Science Fiction (SF) and Sci-Fi? Most movies are sci-fi. According to Robert Heinlein, science fiction SHOULD be something like a future documentary, or docu-drama. Select a scientific, technological or social development; extrapolate into the future, and develop the kind of society which would result; insert a believable, personable, identifiable POV character, and explore/expose the world through your character’s story.
“Idiocracy” sounded and looked like a re-write/version of “The Marching Morons,” which had a much darker ending.
Enemy Mine
Im a horror movie junkie and there are some films I watched on Shudder and Prime that are More sci fi. Check these out. The Faculty (high school teachers are body snatched) and Timecrimes (Spanish movie about the problems with very brief back in time traveling).
Hollywood Shuffle! Funny as hell movie!
I saw "Robot Jox" a LONG time ago, and I remember liking it. The guys at Red Letter Media did a good review of it on Best of the Worst. My primary memory of it was the novelty of a battle in space that was completely silent. Physically accurate AND much cheaper to create!
I saw part of Strange Days a few years back. It's OK.
My contribution:
1964 First Men in the Moon starring Lionel Jeffries and the lovely Martha Hyer
Excellent ending.
