‘...”John Carter” is worth a look.’
I liked it. A combination of 3 of EGB’s Barsoomian books. How did you think it compared to “A Princess of Mars”, a lower budget film released about the same time, which stayed closer to the original (1912?) book.

Big thumbs up on “Frequency”, though part of my enthusiasm was that I recognized the old Heathkit Tranceiver they used in the movie. Similar to the ones I built with my older brother back in the day. Also, the baseball tie-in didn’t hurt for me.
Too bad that the TV series they did a few years ago based on the movie got too PC to be worth watching after an episode or two.

If we all liked the same things, what a boring place this world would be.
I weary of people trying to tell me how good 2010 was. I had a nearly identical conversation at work last week.
Some folks like 2010. I most emphatically do not, and consider it of a similar cinematic significance to such works as Manos: The Hands of Fate, or Gigli, or Battlefield Earth.
Unadulterated UGH!
JMHO, YMMV...

Well, “Idiocracy” was made in 2006. The future part came less than 10 years later, though.
Sort of like “1984”. Orwell missed the mark by maybe 20 years, if that. Today’s media definitely works in “Newspeak” all the time.
