Muted political tone at largest Koch donor network meeting
Associated Press ^ | January 26, 2019 | Sally Ho

A record-breaking number of wealthy donors have gathered at conservative billionaire industrialist Charles Koch’s private weekend retreat, where leaders of the powerful political network have taken a decidedly different, more politically muted tone than in years past. […]

On Saturday night, Charles Koch told the donors that attitudes against perceived adversaries and people with different beliefs were tearing the country apart but that his network was working to “unite with anybody to do right.”

“This network has taken its effectiveness to a whole new level,” Koch said. […]

Prominent Koch donor Doug Deason of Texas said the reported infighting between Koch and Trump was “old news” and that conservatives have united, especially after Democrats took control of the House.

“I just don’t think there was a huge amount of animosity. It was blown out of proportion,” Deason said. …

The Koch Brothers are common, ordinary open-border crony-fascists.

Who knew?

I thought I just read someplace that evil koch boys would NOT be supporting PDJT for the 2020 bid. Uh, did they support him last time around?

And that’s what the AP calls “conservative”.

Further down in this screed, they give the Koch Bros. almost total credit for the tax overhaul bill that Trump signed.

Funny how Deason went after Trump for the temporary end of the partial shutdown, but now goes to the Koch jaunt and claims that “conservatives” (scare quotes) are united after the Dems taking the house (when they should have been there before that).

The Koch Bros. did not support Trump in 2016, or since.

They have, however, been strong supporters in the past of VP Pence.

At least $oreA$$ is honest about his hatred of a strong America.

These rectums want to destroy our middle class by bringing in foreign workers to work for low wages.

Sally Ho, "immigrant nobody" according to her Twitter bio, is the AP here.

Just the kinda person the Koch's think so much of...unlike Americans.

That's who you're reading. Maybe Hong Kong girl, maybe Beijing Commie. We aren't told...

I completely agree. That was a tax cut any GOP president would have gotten through, given the majorities in both chambers. Given the tax cut’s importance to the globalist/big donor wing of the party and the recipients of that wing’s largesse, it was the perfect opportunity for Trump to ram a wall down their open borders throats. But he failed to seize the moment, which is why we are now looking at shutdown theatrics that will not get us a wall.

The Kochs are not conservative they are corporatists. I never saw the difference until the gang of 8 several years ago. I am now against the entire corporatist agenda as long as they are open borders. I am against anything corporate including tax cuts for corporatists and their companies as long as the corporate media is an enemy to the rest of us. Since persons over 100k were the only economic class among Caucasians to vote for Hillary then I am against all tax cuts for same. They show no interest in any conservative reform unless it benefits them directly. It seems that after they get theirs they are perfectly willing to allow the Democrats to take over the country via open borders in return for cheap labor. Screw them!

Koches support Pence because in the final analysis imo he is a wimp and a globalist. I cringed when Trump picked him.

Freepers please correct me. Or support my opinion.

Trump would not have won the election without the unwavering support of Pence, especially after the Access Hollywood tapes came out. The choice of Pence as VP allowed many who were wary of Trump, especially his easily-attacked playboy lifestyle, to believe that he was now a morally upright man whom they could vote for.

There were many such aspects to the campaign without which we would now have Hillary as President.

Those who want lower taxes and less regulation can be allies, even if they disagree on other issues. Pretty obvious support for lower taxes and fewer regulations doesn’t say anything about open borders.

This is also seen in those who support a strong US military. Some support it because it is the international police force for the New World Order, some support it just because they make money from it, and some support it in order to preserve American sovereignty. Just the fact of support for the US military says nothing about the motivation for doing so.
