But socialism requires worker ownership and control of the means of production.
In Nazi Germany, private capitalist individuals owned the means of production, and they in turn were frequently controlled by the Nazi party and state.
True socialism does not advocate such economic dictatorship -- it can only be democratic. Hitler's other political beliefs place him almost always on the far right.
He advocated racism over racial tolerance, eugenics over freedom of reproduction, merit over equality, competition over cooperation, power politics and militarism over pacifism, dictatorship over democracy, capitalism over Marxism, realism over idealism, nationalism over internationalism, exclusiveness over inclusiveness, common sense over theory or science, pragmatism over principle, and even held friendly relations with the Church, even though he was an atheist.

Well, Hitler was a nationalist, which would position him on the right. On the other hand, his effort was initially a worker uprising.
But on socialism, government ownership is not worker ownership. Government ownership is political class ownership, where some of the wealthier constituents control what the government owns, control the system of socialism and put their children through a fine arts education charade into the more influential, high income government positions.

I googled around on this guy. He has a massive amount of liberal talking points, justifications, and argument. Some, like the democracy vs republic schtick you’re always running into, is really informative but with dubious conclusions.
He has a good mind wasted on liberalism.
The problem is that “Leftism” is poorly defined, and for many decades “the Right” was defined as “anybody who opposes International Communism”.
It’s more precise to say that Nazism and Soviet Communism are both examples of Statism, defined as “concentration of economic controls and planning in the hands of a highly centralized government often extending to government ownership of industry”.
The main difference between Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia, was that individuals technically retained ownership in Germany. In reality, the “owners” did as they were told by the State planners.
You’ve gotta love how leftists everywhere claim that other leftists... those who managed to destroy their own countries and killed tens of millions of their own people... were not really leftists because of inconsequential nonsense. These Antifa thugs all the way up to the Chuck and Nancy show, all have a lot in common with Hitler, Stalin, and Mao.
Hitler didn't give a shiite about the workers (or anyone else for that matter). He wanted the control he needed to make Germany into a mythic power consistent with its Legends.
And BTW, Left and Right mean different things in different places and over time.
Did Hitler want a republic in which power was held by the public and exercised by elected representatives? Er, no.
Did Hitler want a workers paradise? Again, no.
Did Hitler want a Germany (and, for that matter, a world) molded in his own image and conformed by Germanic/Teutonic mythology and paganism?
Ding, ding, ding.
All modern leftists are the ideological heirs of Hitler and his ovens.

Socialism and national socialism only split in the late 19th Century. In the US, Woodrow Wilson was the internationalist socialist, and Teddy Roosevelt was the national socialist.
At the time, the extreme left were called anarchists.
In Europe, especially Germany, the internationalist socialists became communists and national socialists became fascists. There, the split was so great that even homosexuals were part of it. The “pink” homosexuals embraced communism, and the “butch” homosexuals, national socialism.
Hitler’s brownshirts were mostly led by butch homosexuals.

Well, then, given that Goebbels is such an avatar of honesty, I guess we can take him at his word.

This has been one of the standard sermons of the Communist Party annual calendar for years, and it is still preached on every campus in this country with the possible exception of the Service Academies and I’m not sure about their Soc Departments, they deserve a watchful eye.
Stalin was not an Internationalist. He was closer to Hitler than to Lenin.
Stalin preached “Socialism in One Country” and Russian superiority, mandating Russification across the Soviet Union, and uprooting communities and replacing them with ethnic Russians.

ANYONE who as read Mein Kampf will know that Hitler loathed lefties.
Everyone knows about how he was a struggling artist, fewer know he was a day-labor construction guy:

I’ve bookmarked his site to study in more depth (know your enemy). So far he strikes me as a typical “do as I say, not as I do” socialist.
You can play this game. Hitler was a vegetarian and was anti-smoking. He liked dogs.
I like dogs. What can we extrapolate from that?
