A Hitler? Not THE Hitler? Could be anyone
Watch for MSM headlines, Donald Trump watercolor up for auction!
I like the episode of “Justified” where an art collector says he has a collection of Hitler’s paintings. The lead character is uninterested, but finally is coerced into going to see the collection. It’s a room full of jars with ashes in them. The art collector bought the Hitler paintings and burned them, putting the ashes in individual jars.
Personally, I don't see it as an issue. Just another collection of art from a notorious person...makes it more collectible for some.
In the article it said:
"...He [Hitler] reputedly told British ambassador Nevile Henderson in August 1939: 'I am an artist and not a politician. Once the Polish question is settled, I want to end my life as an artist.'..."
In May of 1945, he sure did end his life as an artist, so I guess he was prescient...
He was actually pretty good.
Not particularly good at drawing people, which is what kept him out of the best art schools, which, of course, he blamed on Joooos who ran the place (or he thought they did, same effect).
I often wonder what would have happened if he was just a bit better.
Probably some other asshole would have taken his place.
Look like happy mountains to me. Are they sure these werent done by Bob Ross.
They’ll all, of course, sell for far more than Hitler could have gotten for them when he painted them. A pity people weren’t fans of his painting when he was living in Vienna - he could have become one more deranged, untalented artist instead of a killer of millions.
Hitler was a postcard painter in Vienna in 1905/1906 when he joined the anti Jewish Christian Socialist Movement.
If I am not mistaken, the US government in archives has many of Hitler’s paintings.
He was also a war hero, winning the Iron Cross First Class in 1918.
After having won the Iron Cross Second Class in 1917.
Psychopaths have absolutely no fear.
And a relatively accomplished artist.
His oratory skills are renowned to all who study that art/science. He is often thought to be the gold standard.
All in all, I think I’d go for a John Wayne Gacy clown painting over a Hitler watercolor.
There is no more delusional people than young artists.
I made a living as a photographer; mostly collegiate sports. You would be surprised at the number of people who approach you, telling you how good they are at their craft. Their stuff sucks. Their families tell them they are good. They arent.
Hitler was not very good.
Pretty, in a community college “Intro to Watercolor Painting” way. I mean, you can tell it’s mountains and stuff.
As long as there are no Nazi symbols his artwork can be sold.
He really did have a problem with drawing/painting people.
That was the reason the art institute/school he applied to rejected him. He was advised to concentrate on buildings; he could have been a very good architect.
Because he was a narcissist he couldn’t bring himself to attend to a lower art institute/school.
