That is just about the opposite of my take-away. I believe that he EXPECTS the Dems to be duplicitous.
He reiterated that the southern border WILL be protected regardless of what the Dems say or (don't) do.
This takes away one of the Dems biggest arguments as the Federal workers will get their back pay.
I also got the impression that he wasn't quite ready to pull the trigger on declaring a national emergency.

Trump still needs funding for a wall in a bill. If Trump has to pull the trigger for the emergency thingy it will be immediately challenged in Court.
Oh planning started last year. All they have to do is fine tune and do the final walk throughs. I’m sure the speech was canned a month ago and just has a few lines left to see what happens over the next week. If it doesn’t happen I think that will say even more about how F’d up Congress has become.

Military orders do not require funding beyond what has been appropriated by Congress for the military. It’s a military order, which means its not going to be enjoined by a judge either.

That’s if Roberts doesn’t join with the liberals and make it go through all the Courts first. That would take years, just like DACA.

Jeeze! I want him to knock it off, write up a crisp little report exonerating the President and his campaign of collusion with Russia and go back to playing golf.
If Mueller indicts Don Jr. then all hell will break loose. Trump's final two years will be destroyed by him having to focus on defending his family, and some Socialist Dem will probably win in 2020.
The best thing for both Trump and the USA is to bring this horrible side show to an end ASAP. The Stone indictment is completely ridiculous, gratuitous, unwarrented, destructive , petty, vindictive, stupid and wrong.
