Today’s Cryptogram

SN ZHAU AONJB EHC ZTLYA EONLVF,

YNIJUN EHC YTAJDCNNZNLUA RELNAUVF,

IHU JVSJFA OHCAHN AEVTYJCTUF. YELJVY UCHZO

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter.

For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram)

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

Send me a private reply if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solves these puzzles.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Hobbies; Miscellaneous; Music/Entertainment
KEYWORDS: brain; cryptogram; puzzle; todayscryptogram
If you're just starting out on these, be patient, as you'll be proficient in no timie.

Solving the puzzle under 8 minutes is good, under 6 very good, under 4 excellent and under two "you're a pro!"

Those of you looking for an added challenge can try to solve one sentence at a time, i.e. solve the entire first line, then go to the second line etc.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hal’s Helper below:

It’s easier to work on the puzzle without having to use your pencil.

Three minutes! Not many names start and end with the same letter. =)

Ok, your email clue gave it away. Took about 60 seconds after that, but I still don’t get or see the referenced colon. Maybe you can explain later. Good quote though.

The only colon I see is the one after “for example”. I’m on an iPad right now and don’t know how to “left click” without a mouse. 😳

I’m sorry. Go to post #4. A clue was posted by this person. Highlight the area AFTER the colon, following the word “hint” A clue, invisible before will become visible now. Very clever. Don’t know how it’s done.

Yes, I don’t think you can highlight without a mouse....unless you go “select” then try to highlight. That will probably work.

Finally got it.

The clue for me was to think of first names that begin and end with the same letter.

Note: reveal the clue by highlighting it.

Good one!!!

Amazingly I solved it by concentrating on the word: YTAJDCNNZNLUA. I picked a letter for N based on frequency and then I found an English word that has NN-N in it...
