I still chuckle at a standup comedian’s line (can’t remember who) from years ago, who said while trapped in an elevator his worst nightmare would be hearing “sing us another number, won’t you please Miss Channing?”
Wow. Honestly I had no idea that she was still alive.

I met her once (1973 )when she was campaigning in the old neighborhood for Abe Beame to be elected NYC Mayor. He won.

Good grief....it was a joke on both “Dolly” and, of course, “Chuck”. I grew-up with “Richard” and quite cognizant of his hits.

Now THERE’s a name I haven’t heard of in a long time.
I had never heard of him before he ran for mayor, and cannot recall hearing of him again after his term was over.
He was mayor at a time probably no one else wanted the job.
God is saying ‘Hello, Dolly’ as we are saying ‘Goodbye, Dolly’. Another Hollywood legend passed away - and I never heard her comment on politics, wish today’s ‘legends’ would.
